Jake Mahegan once again is shown to be a complete BA! Like the others, AJ’s extremely detailed description of the fight scenes Leeds the listener to believe that he himself trains in martial arts because you can easily visualize every move until the bad guys ass has been beat. Great book, great performance, and story. If your a Jake Mahegan fan, you won’t be disappointed.

Even though Mcall was obviously a Caucasian in the book I couldn’t help but visualize Denzel while trying not to put the book down. Great book. Great narration!

A.J. Has absolutely got Jake Mahegans character dialed in and his abilities put a lot of other “hero” style characters to shame. I’m going on a limb but I think A.J.has put his time in with martial arts because Hill describing a fight scene makes you believe you are right they are witnessing it. Barry will be too especially on the fight scenes and every new character introduced brings another little cherry on top of what is already a great book. I have read every book in the series and every one of them have been great! Lastly Jonathan Davis the narrator is just the man for the job. With his deep voice and southern draw, There is no other near raider out there that I have heard or can remember that.could pull off Jake Mohegan better than Jonathan Davis!!

Great narration! Jake is a total bad ass in every book but seems to never get mad. lol. Smooth is fast, fast is smooth! Can’t wait for the next one!

Fascinating read!

At a time when SEALS seem to get all the glory, it was fascinating to read of a Special Forces Team doing a mission which is a lot more than just killing the enemy. I have read a ton of books from The War on Terror era and have never read one like this. Well researched, well written and topped off with a great narrator, this is book that will teach you about Special Forces and the brave men who were the tip of the spear into Afghanistan before we ever knew we were kicking it off.

Narration could have been better.

Well written Action packed story with a very cool main character. The narrator actually had a voice that seemed to fit him well. BUT, during the story it didn’t matter if he was in a firefight or talking to his lady. I don’t like giving bad reviews and this one wasn’t terrible but it missed the ability to feel the like I’m in the action like some others have.

Great historical account of how this unit came together and operated.

Well researched and informative about a very secretive unit. However If your wanting a book full of intense and gunfights or exciting covert missions you may want to look somewhere else. I hate giving bad reviews but the more books I read (listen to) that are written and read like a high school history book and read by a history teacher on the year he’s about to retire the more I realize I can’t finish them. When a chapter ends as your driving or whatever your doing as you listen and you go “what did I just miss out on because I was daydreaming about something else?” I know this isn’t my kind of book. If your into those kind of books this one is pretty good. I suppose?

How do you make a story about BTK boring?

Get John Douglass and Johnny Dodd to write a fascinating book. The get a some young man off the street to narrate it. I don't like giving bad reviews. The book was very well written as I expected it to be but after the first 4hrs I was having to force myself to continue listening. I know it's been a few years since it was published and the audiobook produced but whoever has the right to it should pay a heavy hitting voice actor and it will pay for itself in no time. I hate to give Radar any more ego sense that's what he wants but he IS a very interesting killer. They had the right stuff for a great audiobook but dropped the ball on the narrator.

It had me from the beginning.

but unfortunately this book began to bore me really early into the story. It felt as though each crime was a repeat of the previous missing out on the drama that could have grabbed a hold of you and not let you put it down. It totally lost me after Ramirez's arrest with the back and forth arguments over lawyers and repetitive courtroom actions from Ramirez. I believe the author did a good job of getting lots of details of the case and the characters involved but missed it when it came to putting it all together. I finally realized I was making myself listen to it hoping it would grab my interest again which it never did. Compared to other serial killer books that I have read this one missed it. I don't like leaving negative reviews but felt like I needed to on this one.
