Historia
Relentless phone calls interrupt the peace of a warm August morning in Three Pines. Though the tiny Québec village is impossible to find on any map, someone has managed to track down Armand Gamache, head of homicide at the Sûreté, as he sits with his wife in their back garden. Reine-Marie watches with increasing unease as her husband refuses to pick up, though he clearly knows who is on the other end. When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

Top notch Louise Penny. Worth waiting for! New narrator was excellent. It took me a bit to adjust to the change of readers…but he won me over in no time! Enjoy!

Plain old fun.

I love all of these characters and always hate for the book to end. One thing the author does well is character development. All of the recurring characters are individuals. With flaws and strengths. Can’t wait for the next one.

Once I got used to the characters cutting into the story from present and then switching back to the plot of the story...I was completely entertained. Diana is the ‘Ruth Zardo’ character of this tale. If you love Loiuise Penny’s Ruth...you will be charmed to meet Diana.

When The Parlour opens up in town, domestic diva Sophie Winston finally has a place to satisfy her cravings for all things tea and crumpet related. Historia
The holidays are domestic diva Sophie Winston's favorite time of year. But this season, there seem to be more mishaps than mistletoe. First, Horace Scroggins tumbles from a balcony during his office Christmas party. Then, Sophie's neighbor takes a fall from his ladder while decorating his roof with lights. But it's the cookie swap that really starts to make her wonder who's naughty or nice.

Loved it!
Revisado: 09-15-16
Don't miss this second in the series. Sarah Graves dances a fine line in this genre. She keeps it light...but the story still touches on serious topics and there is character development. Not many in this genre manage the finesse Ms. Graves does.
