Historia
After defecting from North Korea, Yeonmi Park found liberty and freedom in America. But she also found a chilling crackdown on self-expression and thought that reminded her of the brutal regime she risked her life to escape. When she spoke out about the mass political indoctrination she saw around her in the United States, Park faced censorship and even death threats.

Fantastic follow-up to her first book
Revisado: 01-20-25
What a great follow-up to the first book. She recaps her first book at the beginning of this book for anyone who missed it or if it's been a while since you read it. She does a great job drawing parallels between the her experiences in North Korea with the American left. The performance left alot to be desired. It sounded like the reader had just finished walking up four flights of stairs just before she started the book.

Historia
In In Order to Live, Yeonmi Park shines a light not just into the darkest corners of life in North Korea, describing the deprivation and deception she endured and which millions of North Korean people continue to endure to this day, but also onto her own most painful and difficult memories. She tells with bravery and dignity for the first time the story of how she and her mother were betrayed and sold into sexual slavery in China and forced to suffer terrible psychological and physical hardship before they finally made their way to Seoul, South Korea - and to freedom.

Such an amazing story. I've heard her tell her story in interviews but the book has so much more detail. She does a great job capturing her feelings. It really draws you in and touches you.

Historia
Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

Good book. It is definitely Mat Best's style so it is riddled with dark military humor and elaborate hilarious metaphors.

Be it hiring a new employee, investing in a financial interest, speaking with your child about drugs, confronting your significant other about suspected infidelity, or even dating someone new, having the ability to unmask a lie can have far-reaching and even life-altering consequences. As former CIA officers, Philip Houston, Michael Floyd, and Susan Carnicero are among the world’s best at recognizing deceptive behavior.

Not too shabby
Revisado: 05-16-19
The book isn't as braggadociously written as I expected. The points on clustering are good and specific attention was paid to not assume too much based on observations. The examples in the book are good but they would probably be better if actually read so you could ingest and analyze them better. The sample questions in the appendix are a good idea but poorly executed. The final Sadusky example is great in showing guiltful lying from someone who is not a politician or spy AKA trained liars.

He spent years skipping through cyberspace, always three steps ahead and labeled unstoppable.

Revisado: 12-21-18
The story transcends passions. Whether you are a techy, geek, or just someone who likes a good story this is a great book. This is one of the beat books I have ever read/listened to. I have read it twice on e-books, listened onceand will likely through it on for my commute again in the near future.

Great story, poor productuon
Revisado: 11-08-18
The story was fantasic and the narrator was good. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars overall is because the production quality wasn't great and every "s" from the narrator had a high pitched whistle.

In a book filled with as much adventure as any Ludlum novel, the authors show what motivates these young hackers to access systems, how they learn to break in, and how little can be done to stop them.

interesting but not captivating
Revisado: 06-10-18
The story itself is quite interesting especially if you have read other similar books on the topic such as Ghost in the Wires. However, the narrator has poor performance for this type of book. He is very monotone with a slip dip in tone at the end of a sentence as if he were reading the news in a very rigid way. The dullness is distracting.
