This was bad, absolutely not what I expected but I had to finish it. Very dark and not at all as good as the Wizard of Oz Movie or Wicked musical. Just avoid this wild and disjointed propaganda! Ugh!

Satisfying end to a great saga.

What I liked most was how everything was tied up nice, scientific and reasonably. None of the older cliche stuff like like some books like this.

The Queen of the Trails

One of my favorite ghosts trapper stories so far. Absolutely loved the setting and history of the camp grounds, especially the Trail Walker herself. Very well done.

Protagonist Maturity

I’m really enjoying the series over all. My only real complaint and it is beginning to get worse is Ellie’s attitude. I stopped after the 3rd book for a while because Ellie was becoming more immature, almost mean and antagonistic as the series went on; it’s almost like she gets along better with the ghosts she hunts more so than people. The absolute selfishness she displays towards Calvin wanting to be with his grandchild and daughter floored me. Hopefully this changes in the next book or two otherwise I will need to take another 2 or 3yr break.

The End of an era

A fitting end to and this era; definitely a must read. I laughed, I cried and I definitely will miss these characters.

Not as good as the two prior

I was mildly disappointed in this outing. I loved the two prior books but this plot seemed weak and at times a little forced. I seriously considered stopping and returning it. At one point this story felt like someone watched the X-Files, Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull, then sat down and began writing this thing. In a nut shell… save your credit.

What has happened

This might be my least liked book of the entire series and maybe my last. After this, at a minimal I may not come back for at least 2 books if then. I am beginning to think that over the last few books the authors have also developed a serious dislike for animals, in particular dogs! Disgusting!I will refrain from any more specific or possible spoilers. Maybe the authors are burnt out or don’t know know what to do with Pendergast at this point, but this is not what I was been expecting. The narrator’s voice is all wrong and very distracting for Constance, bordering on horrible. Lastly the direction this book took near the end had me squinting and saying WTH!? Not in a good way. Overall I was extremely disappointed and left feeling very sad and unfulfilled, for maybe the first time in this series. Possibly for the last time to… no great loss I’m sure and many won’t care but I just felt the need to state it. For the first time ever I am seriously considering asking for a refund on a Preston & Child book. Take it easy!

Maddox becoming a jerk!

I am on my 2nd listen of this book in the series and finding it hard to finish. Captain Maddox is literally turning into a “New Man” jerk before our very eyes! I don’t know how much longer I can stick with this series. WTH? He gets more rude and worse every book!

I’m glad I didn’t listen to all the negative reviews. This was another solid adventure for the Gray Man and definitely the minor perspective changes added to the story in a positive way for me. Very good and heart felt to me. Gove this book a shot!

Kudos to Mr. Golemon for bringing the Spooky and foreboding thrills with out the guts and gore. Now I have two awesome Series to enjoy from a very good author.
