Typical Dan Brown! Fun!
Revisado: 01-18-18
I think I have read so many of Dan Brown's books that I know his style which made it almost easy to predict what would happen. However that did not diminish the book and how entertained I was by it. I still had fun listening to this book. The message in the book like most Dan Brown books is thought provoking and lingers with you for a while. I still think his most entertaining book was and still is Angels and Demons. Nothing has come close to that. Inferno left me with an interesting question and I wasn't sure how to feel about the ending. I like it when books keep me thinking long after I've read the last word. Origin for sure got close to that but not quite. I would recommend this book to whoever is looking for a quick easy read. It is fun, it is entertaining, it does make you think...a little, but is it a memorable Dan Brown book then the answer to that is no it is not.

Lacked that spark!
Revisado: 05-03-17
I can't put my finger on it but something was missing here. The story wasn't boring but it wasn't exciting either. I just wanted to finish this so I could move on to another book not because I was drawn in. I didn't quiet like the narration either. The narrator seemed bored herself. Maybe someday I'll be able to bring myself to finish the series, but for now I not curious or invested enough to want to know how it ends.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Touching!
Revisado: 08-11-15
I didn't think this was an out of this world kind of book I did however find this story to be one that would stay with you for a long time. The events, and happenings in this book show you both the beauty and the ugly brutality that human beings are capable of. It is a touching story that had a bitter/sweet ending. I gave it 3 stars as there were parts that had me dozing off or loose interest for an instance but the narration by death - Allan Corduner was amazing.

Fantastic...as expected!
Revisado: 12-15-14
As with all the books in the series, it took me forever to finish this and not because it was boring, I really enjoyed it. However there were parts where I was saying things like "oh c'mon, get on with it already." Apart from those few and far between instances the book was keeping me on the edge of my seat just like the others. The plot twists were amazing but not shocking like the ones in the past, maybe thats because I have learned not to get invested in any characters or assume that I know what will happen next hence the shock has been greatly reduced because the only thing I expect with George R.R. Martin is that nothing you think and expect will play out like you assume. Those that have read the series from start to finish will understand what I mean. If you haven't read the series and are skimming reviews to see if this is worth your while than look no further you have hit the jackpot. My only other issue with this was Roy Dotrice narration at certain points. Though overall he was exceptional as always in some cases he got confusing. Cersei started sounding more and more like Tyrion, as did the other characters of the Lannister family when in other books they each had they distinct way of talking. In other cases the character would go from sounding strong and confident to a complete weakling the next chapter even though the circumstance haven't changed much for the character. Besides those few quips I would recommend this series to anyone in a heartbeat.

Not Bad!
Revisado: 08-20-14
This is an interesting book, definitely worth a read through. It's a nice re-telling of age old fairy tale of Rumplestiltskin, from his point of view. The author made this story brand new without changing too much of the original story. I liked that! Wasn't too thrilled with the narration but is wasn't terrible. Would I read it again? Maybe not, at least not for a while. Would I read anything else from this author? Definitely! I may not have loved this book but I did like it so that in itself will make me pick up her next books. This is definitely worth a read.
