Historia
Pinion, Minnesota: a metropolis of all of 700 souls. Nothing ever happened there - until the mayor of sorts (campaign slogan: "I'll Do What I Can") and a buddy come up with a scheme to put Pinion on the map. They'd heard of a place where a floating image of the Virgin Mary had turned the whole town into a shrine, attracting thousands of pilgrims. And all those pilgrims needed food, shelter, all kinds of crazy things, right? They'd all get rich! What could go wrong? When the dead body shows up, they find out, and that's only the beginning of their troubles - and Virgil Flowers'....

I read Virgil Flowers because I enjoy his personality and the characters he works with. Thank goodness the recipe hasn't changed. Another fun story to entertain and tickle my funnybone.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

King does it again!
Revisado: 01-31-18
I am not a lover of all books King but this one is stunning. No one can weave a story and bring out characters like he can. This is one book that I am glad I chose to listen to. The excellent narration adds to the story instead of detracting like sometimes happens. The only downer is when you finish and know that you will no longer be in Sadie's world. No more Bevvie by the levy to brighten your day. It left me satisfied but wanting more. I want the dance to go on. And I want pound cake!

Historia
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.

I have read this book several times over the years, as have most of my family. When I found it on the audio book list I had to have it. What a delicious treat on cold snowy nights in Idaho to listen to this classic mix of modern intrigue and ancient Indian wisdom. My mother and I enjoyed each syllable of this expertly narrated story. The only disappointment is that there won't be a follow-up. A story to be enjoyed by everyone .
