Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Found my Favorite Narrator
Revisado: 04-22-25
This is a very well written, fun romcom story. Thoroughly enjoyable! The characters are so well developed, quirky, flawed and likable. For me, the narration is always key to the success of an audiobook. Julia Whelan is definitely one of the best out there. If the narrator makes or breaks a story for you don't think twice about getting this book.

As audiobooks go this was just okay. I will not be listening to this author again as I'm sure it will just be more of the same.

If you are a Hunger Games series fan this one is a must- listen.
Suzanne Collins crafts a story like few can. Haymitch's story is tragic and rich. Narration is outstanding.

Predictable Cringe
Revisado: 03-16-25
The story starts out well enough, then devolves into smutty, predictable & cringe worthy. It was almost laughable to hear the posh british narrator reading the dirty sex scenes. Yeesh.

Different Narrators
Revisado: 02-28-25
Anne of Green Gables as anticipated was lovely. the narrator albeit an older voice did justice to the story. The narrator for Anne of Avonlea was a different performer and quite painful to listen to. I couldn't finish even the first chapter. Note to whoever produces audiobooks: narration is 75% of your success for any book.

Cookie cutter story line
Revisado: 11-20-24
Okay, if you like this kind of stuff I'm sure it fits your bill. Saccharine sweet story and fairly tolerable narration made this a hard listen. I found myself forwarding through chapters just to find out what happened in the end. luckily this was audible plus and I didn't waste a credit on it.

Narration was not great
Revisado: 11-08-24
For me an audio book narrator helps develop characters with the style in which they read. This book would have had a better impact if I read it instead of listened.
It took me almost half the book to tolerate this narrator because the story was interesting and had me hooked. But she was annoying. Good story otherwise.

Revisado: 02-16-24
The story itself is is mediocre. The characters I find more irritating than anything. But most of all the narration is awful. If narration is important to you then I don't recommend this one.
