Historia
When a daring, high-tech CIA operation goes wrong and is disavowed, Michael Dunne sets out for revenge. CIA operations officer Michael Dunne is tasked with infiltrating an Italian news organization that smells like a front for an enemy intelligence service. Headed by an American journalist, the self-styled bandits run a cyber operation unlike anything the CIA has seen before. Fast, slick, and indiscriminate, the group steals secrets from everywhere and anyone, and exploits them in ways the CIA can neither understand nor stop.

Ignatius strikes again!

semi-spoiler alert: The best part of this book may be that the mystery journalist at the end (Ignatius himself?) is the hero.

Historia
Some have called him "Lawrence of Afghanistan". To the Pashtun tribesmen he is "Commander Jim", leader of the "bearded ones". He is Army Special Forces Major Jim Gant, one of the most charismatic and controversial U.S. commanders of modern memory, a man who changed the face of America's war in Afghanistan when his critical white paper, "One Tribe at a Time", went viral at the Pentagon, the White House, and on Capitol Hill in 2009.

Culturally responsive but questionable integrity leadership meets incompetent bureaucracy in top-notch GWOT war memoir.
Revisado: 12-12-24
It exemplifies the strategies and ulturally responsive leadership needed to win in diplomacy and UW, but leaves more questions than answers about the role of integrity in leadership.
I need to check the stories of Petraeus/Mulholland to corroborate, but I enjoyed the story. It reminded me of "Left of Boom", "Popski's Private Army", and the tragedies of other unconventional geniuses (Wm. Eaton, J. R. Oppenheimer, and E. G. Lansdale).

Engaging plot for fans of the genre! Adds to the great mystery of who actually was JJA.

Awful recording quality - at least three different parts were skipped over, but probably only 5 words missing, altogether.
