Historia
The CIA's deepest secrets are being given away for a larger agenda that will undermine the entire Western intelligence community. Director of National Intelligence Mary Pat Foley wants it stopped but doesn't know who, how, or why. Jack Ryan, Jr., is dispatched to Poland on a different mission. The clues are thin, and the sketchy trail dead ends in a harrowing fight from which he barely escapes with his life. If that's not bad enough, Jack gets more tragic news. An old friend, who's dying from cancer, has one final request for Jack.

Didn't like it
Revisado: 05-23-22
Read twice and still couldn't follow plot. I could figure out who the good guys and bad guys were but I still don't know what they did wrong. Something to do with computers and the cloud but I never did figure out what the crime was. Bad guys got mostly killed in the end. I'll think twice about Madden books again

Historia
A mummified corpse, over half a century old, is found in the cellar of an abandoned building in a remote New Mexico ghost town. Corrie Swanson is assigned what seems to her a throwaway case: to ID the body and determine cause of death. She brings archaeologist Nora Kelly to excavate the body and lend her expertise to the investigation, and together they uncover something unexpected and shocking: the deceased apparently died in agony, in a fetal position, skin coming off in sheets, with a rictus of horror frozen on his face. Hidden on the corpse lies a 16th-century Spanish gold cross.

Really good book
Revisado: 03-16-22
One of the best books I've read in a long time. Plot was outstanding and different and was not hard to keep up with. Characters were interesting and there weren't too many of them. I intend to listen again ASAP.
Listened again and it was even better. May do a 3rd time. Just bought Diablo Mesa based on it written by the same guys

Members of Congress and the Cabinet clamor to back the rebels. Only President Jack Ryan remains wary. Meanwhile, he has plenty to handle at home. A deadly strain of flu is ravaging the United States as spring floods decimate the Southeast. An unethical senator wants to bring down the Ryan presidency and is willing to lean on fabricated bot-planted stories to do it.

Roo many character to follow easily.
Revisado: 01-09-22
Listened twice but didn't follow well. Too many characters especially Russian whose name is hard to pronounce and therefore difficult to recognize. Also, don't like the jumping around from location to location with no tie in

Hated it
Revisado: 11-10-21
Plot was so convoluted and had so many characters, I couldn't follow it. Might be better in hardback. Narrator's Russian and German accents were so bad I missed most of those parts of the book because I couldn't understand her. All I got out of the book was that there was a bad guy organization called Nemesis but I wasn't sure if they were conquered in the end or not. Book was too long, slow moving and hard to follow mostly due to too many characters and a hard to understand narrator. If it wasn't so long I'd try the hardback version instead of audio but I'd rather spend my time on another book.

Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Observation
Revisado: 10-15-21
Nora Roberts is apparently a big drinker since scene after scene involves drinking and has nothing to do with the story. The book mirrors the author. Sometimes you can tell that an author is a smoker since most of the characters in the story smoke. Leave all this superfluous stuff out

Historia
As always, Reacher has no particular place to go, and all the time in the world to get there. One morning he ends up in a town near Pleasantville, Tennessee. But there’s nothing pleasant about the place. In broad daylight Reacher spots a hapless soul walking into an ambush. “It was four against one” . . . so Reacher intervenes, with his own trademark brand of conflict resolution. The man he saves is Rusty Rutherford, an unassuming IT manager, recently fired after a cyberattack locked up the town’s data, records, information . . . and secrets.

Very hard to follow
Revisado: 03-29-21
Waaay too many characters many with unpronouncable Chinese names making it difficult to know who's who. Also, plot jumps over the world with no apparent connection making the plot difficult to follow. Going to try listening again to see if that helps
