Profoundly well presented sense of the beginning of WW II

It is long, wordy, rich with humour and a sense of the intrigue that led to the beginning of WW II. Spy networks, intrigue and the life of a wanderer in pre-war Europe. Listen in small bits to let it flow slowly.

Yes, as I was listening as I was in the car.

What did you like best about this story?

The people he met along the way.

What about Joe Barrett’s performance did you like?

Seemed to ride with the journey and reflected the changing mood so well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Toward the end and coming to terms with trying to live one's own life rather then collecting the lives of strangers as one's own.

Any additional comments?

Get a decent map of the US highway system down to the "Blue highways" and follow the route if you can. Adds much more meaning.

Yes, and did. Good fun and a good tale.

Not any as it holds the interest well.

Which scene was your favorite?

The theft of the .... but that would be telling.

No, I wanted to try and predict the next stage, unsuccessfully.

This is just fun. Even though the Catholic church gets exposed for what it was and still is in many ways, as Martin Luther arrives on the scene, a pope might find it fun too.

Would you consider the audio edition of At the Edge of Uncertainty to be better than the print version?

Yes, as the concepts are well presented orally, but then maybe a reread would help too. The listener is taken into deep theoretical waters but with care and understanding.

The truth about our expanded environment and known world

No character other than an explorer into the edges of science and belief.

Research into gene therapy and how the Big Bang Theory is ready to join Adam and Eve..

This fits into all of his books with deep research, interesting anecdotes and solid performance.

No, too many topics, better to give a chapter its full time then take a break and think about what you have just heard.

Flogs the loss of words to death. Languages are living things that reflect life as it is lived where it is lived. Words come and go. Do we need another book to tell us the obvious?

What could Robert Macfarlane have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
