Great story!
Revisado: 05-05-25
While the Prosecution Force and Reed Montgomery books are a great series with well developed characters and intriguing plot lines, Reed Montgomery is a class A jerk who doesn't deserve a class A woman like Banks.

Evil Villain
Revisado: 08-31-24
It's hard to believe that anyone could be as evil and despicable as the villain in this story but one thing you learn for certain when listening to this audiobook, which Jay Myers brilliantly narrates, is that a weak leader in the White House and a CIA director who believes that he can single-handedly save the world, always leads to disaster. The author continues to tell us that he tries to avoid politics in his stories but you can see a parallel to what is happening today. It is fiction, but it mirrors reality. As usual, the author's master storytelling, dialogue and character descriptions, make for yet another compelling book in this amazing series.

In A Class By Themselves
Revisado: 08-22-24
Author Saul Herzog and narrator Jay Myers are in a class by themselves. Powerful, intricate storyline and plot development. Deeply intense, well-crafted characters. Sentence structure that brings the imagery of the story directly to your mind as you listen and a narrator that can do such a wide variety of voices, both young and old, male and female and all with a variety of accents, so that no two characters ever sound alike and you always know who is speaking.
This author and narrator are a formidable team and have taken the thriller genre to the next level.

Historia
The Russian by Saul Herzog is the stunning second instalment in the series that has taken the publishing industry, and Hollywood rights departments, by storm. This dazzling tour de force is a full standalone novel. From the mind of one of the most creative and versatile writers working in America today, this book will surely go down as a classic of the spy thriller genre.

Helluva story!
Revisado: 08-11-24
Saul Herzog knows how to tell a compelling story with depth of character and lots of nuance, avoiding the normal cliches that seem to dominate this genre.
Herzog has taken the thriller genre to the next level and Jay Meyers is an excellent choice for narrator, bringing the many different types of characters to life with their distinct voices, both male and female, with a wide range of accents.
This is an audiobook series that is tough to put down.

Phoning it in
Revisado: 09-03-23
This might have been a better story with a different narrator. This narrator seemed to be almost phoning it in. Flat and lacking in any feeling. No distinction between character's voices. The story wasn't all that good to begin with but a different narrator might have salvaged it some.

Outstanding
Revisado: 08-26-23
What makes this series exceptional is the characters. They are characters with depth. They are courageous individuals who have flaws and regrets but continue to show exceptionalism in spite of those flaws. They are courageous but also vulnerable. These are characters that you begin to identify with and find yourself becoming friends with. You want to see them succeed and overcome the overwhelming obstacles they face. I have to say that the narrator, R.C. Bray was also exceptional. He delivers both male and female voices with distinctive characteristics and flawless accents. Each character is identifiable. Excellent series with a fantastic ending.

In the north, the collapsed section of the Wall is defended only by the decimated remains of 2 PARA. Even reinforced by Jameson and the exhausted Royal Marines of One Troop, it's a doomed delaying action at best - and the last choke point in the entire ZA faces an incoming tide of dead stretching to the ends of the Earth. Meanwhile, hunkered down at CentCom, the unified ranks of our heroes, led by Ali and Fick, work furiously to fortify and reinforce what will be humanity's final fallback position - forever.

Murphy’s Law on steroids
Revisado: 08-20-23
I’m almost glad that this is the second to the last book in the series, which I love but the unpredictable has become predictable. You can almost tell exactly when some outrageous coincidence will create a domino effect that will lead to total chaos and disaster. Murphy’s Law on steroids. On the other hand, the very diverse array of main characters and their interaction makes up the difference and keeps the story interesting and the great narration keeps me listening. I especially like how there are just as many bad ass female characters as there are male characters. The characters in this series have lots of depth. This is what makes this series so outstanding.

If anything can go wrong.
Revisado: 08-08-23
As I've said before, the prevalence of Murphy's Law in these stories has become almost predictable. I love these stories and they are continuing to capture my imagination but whenever it looks like these people are making some progress, I find myself thinking, "Wait for it!" and sure enough, the confluence of unbelievably bizarre events occurs to turn anything positive into a disaster. It's almost laughable sometimes how the chain of improbability turns into disastrous reality. These people just can't seem to catch a break and quite often, it's their own fault. Otherwise, I keep listening because I can't wait to see what happens next. Maybe this is what the author had intended all along. Obviously, it's working because I'm still here.

Murphy’s Law?
Revisado: 07-30-23
Although I truly am enjoying this series, one thing that I have to point out is the over prevalence of Murphy’s Law. If anything can go wrong, it usually does so the unpredictable becomes predictable after all. You begin to start anticipating it. Whenever it looks like an escape or rescue is about to occur, you find yourself thinking, “Okay, what completely insane screw up is going to happen now?”
