This book is brilliant!

I love Liane Moriarty's books! They are so real and very contemporary. She writes about the characters school mothers meet every day and intertwines them in riveting plots. I don't think I've ever read a single author's books and listened to them also one after the other . This book is very well narrated also. I'm going to download my next Moriarty book right now!

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Any additional comments?
It is a few weeks since I finished this book and still I think of the men in this history often. If there was only one book I could keep in my audible library, this would be the one. It is narrated perfectly and the story is so intriguing that you don't want to stop listening. The bravery and endurance of Shackleton and his men is almost incredible. I cannot believe that men survived an ordeal such as this epic voyage. Normally I would not choose a book about an adventurer but the reviews were all so deservedly good that I felt compelled to give it a go! So glad I did!
