Beautifully written and narrated

I generally only listen to books when I go on walks, but I couldn’t wait to get back to this one. It was so thoughtful and well written. The character development and story flowed seamlessly. It never dragged and always left me curious and often feeling inspired. I also truly enjoyed the narrators. Their voices were perfect match in my mind.
Running errands will be a lot less enjoyable now that I finished.

Fun book, overly dramatic reader

I listen to another Kristen Higgins book with Xe Sands narrating, and though I often cringed, I got through it because I liked the writing. I desperately want to listen to this book, but the narrator is just so exhausting that I don’t know if I will make it the whole way through. I feel horrible saying that as I’m sure she works hard on her craft, but it’s like watching a good movie with terrible actors. I end up focusing on her breathy, over emphasized, and I wish I had the words for it, but every time the character is self deprecating she has this really annoying way of reading the text. Just theatrical. I feel like a narrator needs to convey emotion without stealing the show. I’m going to try to get through the book but it won’t be easy.
