Historia
Blythe Connor is determined that she will be the warm, comforting mother to her new baby Violet that she herself never had. But in the thick of motherhood's exhausting early days, Blythe becomes convinced that something is wrong with her daughter - she doesn't behave like most children do. Or is it all in Blythe's head? Her husband, Fox, says she's imagining things. The more Fox dismisses her fears, the more Blythe begins to question her own sanity, and the more we begin to question what Blythe is telling us about her life as well.

This was a very interesting listen. The reader was fabulous in getting Blythe’s story told. It kept me wanting more more more, which I believe to be the mark of a gifted artist, no matter the medium.

Historia
It seems straightforward to Attorney Nate Shepherd: a middle-aged billionaire dies while celebrating at a wedding reception. The grief-stricken family lashes out, though, blaming the billionaire’s date for his death. When the family brings all of its power to bear, the wheels of local justice threaten to overwhelm the woman. As Nate Shepherd steps in to defend her, he tries to deflect the misplaced anger that’s directed at the woman for the tragedy. But as the investigation progresses, a tangled history unravels, including unexpected ties to Nate’s own life.

This was a really fun listen.
Revisado: 12-10-21
The story was a bit silly at first, but I really found myself enjoying the madcap action of Zoey and Sean. And I was completely fooled by the plot, so kudos to the author. And the narrator was a perfect Zoey. (The rest of the characters fell into place, too.)
If you’re tired of thrillers and heavy books, give this one a listen. It was really fun.

It’s a dang good book.
Good job, Ms Feeney. I’m recommending this one for my book club.

Glad I gave this one a listen. Although at times I found I was trying to hurry along the narration, overall, it proved to be a very well put-together book. I could not have even guessed it would go the way it went, so kudos to Kubica for an excellent story and clever plot lines.
I love it when a new author snags my attention. Now, I find I need to research her other works to see if they’re as good.

Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

For a first book, Jack Carr is first class. The tension throughout the book was palpable and intense. For those listeners wanting a great thrill ride, look no further than The Terminal List. Sure to give Brad Thor and Vince Flynn a run for the money, way to go, Jack Carr! A big thanks for a new literary hero. Watch out, Scot Harvarth and Mitch Rapp.

Um . . . not one of Ms. Roberts’ vest, but a nice diversion nonetheless.
Revisado: 02-23-21
I can’t say I loved it, but it was a nice listen as I drove back and forth to work and home. The reader was more sarcastic than realistic, but for the most part, an okay narrator. I’m just very glad this one was unabridged as my last Roberts’ work was not, and made for a choppy and not altogether likable diversion from day-to-day life. Isn’t that why we read? And now listen to books?
I hope others enjoy it, and maybe find some fun in the adventure.

Don’t like abridged books
Revisado: 02-06-21
Too bad I didn’t catch that this was abridged. Does NOT do Ms Robert’s justice to hack away at her work. Narration was great, and the actual full story stellar.

Great story, fabulous ending. Narrator was horrible.
Revisado: 08-26-20
Although the story was great - all NR’s are - this narrator was just that. A narrator. She had no differentiation between characters and half the time you didn’t know who was actually talking. No voice inflection for anyone, male or female. The only saving grace was she had the accent just right. I’ll steer clear of her “narrations” from now on.

Fabulous performance.
Revisado: 08-15-20
I’ve been listening to all of Nora Roberts’ earlier books - ones I read when they first came out and now enjoying again as I travel in my car. Over the past several months and years, I’ve enjoyed the “listens”, maybe rated them with the stars at the end, but I’ve never provided an actual review. However, this one was different. This narrator was superb. I felt like HE was the writer and knew every character so well that he became them - specifically Tucker. I was entertained, entranced and NEVER bored. And, since I’d read the book when it was first published, a lot of years has passed so it was almost like a new Nora adventure.
I recommend this “listen” to anyone who wishes to be completely lost in the story. Enjoy!!!
