It's National Library Week, and the Athena Public Library is planning an exhibit to honor the centenary of famous novelist Electra Barnes Cartwright - creator of the beloved Veronica Thane series. Charlie has a soft spot for Cartwright's girl detective stories (not to mention an extensive collection of her books!). When the author agrees to make a rare public appearance, the news of her whereabouts goes viral overnight, and series devotees and book collectors converge on Athena.

Previous books better?

Lose the cat, the cat noises, the litter box use, the eating, the cat's leg rubbing, and the stair climbing and there is little left. Too many tiring, unimportant, unnecessary, minute details

Not my cup of tea

I did not finish this book. Seemed more work than pleasure. Characters annoying. Maybe it would have been acceptable if I had.

Edit!,,
Revisado: 06-01-15
Good story, strong characters. Just cut out 60% of the mental monologues, - redundant, repetitious , unnecessary. And 60% of the eye gazing and facial expressions and it would be a 6 star book.

When a suspicious fax is sent to one of her new clients, Maggie is sure she's unearthed a conspiracy. Annoying nickname
Revisado: 06-01-15
The EXCESSIVE use of the annoying nickname "UNCLE SCROOGE" was grating, spoiled an otherwise amusing cozy mystery. Did anyone edit this book?

Kathy , Kathy, Kathy.. Let it go already, r
Revisado: 02-24-15
A 32 yr old woman goes on and on and on and on about a botched junior high friendship. What would Kathy think, or do , or say! too much filler. Thin story material. Jamie was not likable at the end. Too silly and self-centered. Needed serious editing. More events , much less speculating on kathy's failed nursing career she never bothered about. Enjoyed the first book this one was boring, redundant, repetitive.
