Historia
If you’ve already tried one method of treatment for PTSD yet experienced no positive results, there are still multiple other options available for you to test out, so don’t get discouraged. Every person heals uniquely to the next, which means you need to find the method that works solely for you. Keep in mind that treatment doesn’t automatically mean having to go to therapy - plenty of alternative ways to heal exist, allowing you to choose whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Very helpful
Revisado: 09-27-21
I experience complex PTSD and have had a difficult time finding help. This book is extremely helpful for me. I especially appreciate that Mr Gardner acknowledges more healing techniques than just talk therapy and medication. Also, Mr Burr's narration is calming and easy to follow. I will be listening to this one more than once and highly recommend it.

Historia
Half-Korean, half-Japanese, Masaji Ishikawa has spent his whole life feeling like a man without a country. This feeling only deepened when his family moved from Japan to North Korea when Ishikawa was just thirteen years old, and unwittingly became members of the lowest social caste. His father, himself a Korean national, was lured to the new Communist country by promises of abundant work, education for his children, and a higher station in society. But the reality of their new life was far from utopian.

An eye opener
Revisado: 06-22-18
This well narrated book had me hooked from the beginning. The devastating details of what it is like to live in North Korea were heart-breaking. The whole time I was hoping that he would make it out alive. In the end, this book opened my eyes to the truth of the horrific life that North Koreans endure; beyond the stereotypes and rumours. I recommend this book for anyone looking to educate themselves and be inspired by one man's enduring will to overcome.
