Historia
In 1946, genius linguist and codebreaker Meredith Gardner discovered that the KGB was running an extensive network of strategically placed spies inside the United States, whose goal was to infiltrate American intelligence and steal the nation's military and atomic secrets. Over the course of the next decade, he and young FBI supervisor Bob Lamphere worked together on Venona, a top-secret mission to uncover the Soviet agents and protect the Holy Grail of Cold War espionage - the atomic bomb.

Fascinating Story !!!
Revisado: 06-13-21
This book is a stunning account of Soviet spys in the United States post WW2. The author brilliantly explains how "The code breaker" and "The G-man" worked together to identify and breakup the spy network that gave the Soviets top secret details from The Manhattan Project leading them to develop the Atomic Bomb.

Historia
More than seven decades after the end of the Second World War, the era of the Nazi hunters is drawing to a close as they and the hunted die off. Their saga can now be told almost in its entirety. After the Nuremberg trials and the start of the Cold War, most of the victors in World War II lost interest in prosecuting Nazi war criminals. Many of the lower-ranking perpetrators quickly blended in with the millions who were seeking to rebuild their lives in a new Europe, while those who felt most at risk fled the continent.

Superb historically accurate story about a dedicated few who spent their lives tracking down those who took part in the extermination of over 6 million innocent people. They spoke for those who could not speak for themselves.

Historia
On June 6, 1944, 150,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy and suffered an astonishingly low rate of casualties. A stunning military achievement, it was also a masterpiece of trickery. Operation Fortitude, which protected and enabled the invasion, and the Double Cross system, which specialized in turning German spies into double agents, tricked the Nazis into believing that the Allied attacks would come in Calais and Norway rather than Normandy.

terrific book, true story of bravery at the cost of much blood. Eisenhower should have shut this ill conceived operation before it started. Montgomery was short on common sense and appears to not cared about the cost in lives lost

This audiobook was very difficult to stop listening. Tom Clancy's stories pull you in and you feel you are involved. There is a movie based on this book but it's not as good as this book. I highly recommend this book and any other Tom Clancy novel. if you want to really feel involved read/listen to this novel.

Historia
No event in American history was more pivotal---or more furiously contested---than Congress's decision to declare independence in July 1776. Even months after American blood had been shed at Lexington and Concord, many colonists remained loyal to Britain. John Adams, a leader of the revolutionary effort, said bringing the fractious colonies together was like getting "thirteen clocks to strike at once."

Historia
In this gripping chronicle of America's struggle for independence, award-winning historian John Ferling transports listeners to the grim realities of that war, capturing an eight-year conflict filled with heroism, suffering, cowardice, betrayal, and fierce dedication. As Ferling demonstrates, it was a war that America came much closer to losing than is now usually remembered. General George Washington put it best when he said that the American victory was "little short of a standing miracle."
