Great Story and Narration
Revisado: 11-19-24
This is another great novella from Holly Knightley! Holly does a great job establishing setting and the characters in a relatively short format. Hitch was a great character! I love the elements of humor injected into the story as well. Her twist endings might just be my favorite part of her books.
Jason Markiewitz is an excellent narrator. I always enjoy listening to him.
I was gifted this copy by the author but would gladly pay the list price. Totally worth a listen!

Historia
Arthur Parnassus lives a good life built on the ashes of a bad one. He’s the headmaster of a strange orphanage on a distant and peculiar island, and he hopes to soon be the adoptive father to the six dangerous and magical children who live there. Arthur works hard and loves with his whole heart so none of the children ever feel the neglect and pain that he once felt as an orphan on that very same island so long ago. He is not alone: joining him is the love of his life, Linus Baker, a former caseworker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth.

Fantastic Sequel!
Revisado: 09-16-24
I’m a new fan of TJ Klune. I really enjoy his stories and the characters he creates have so much heart. They also make me laugh out loud! The narrator Daniel Henning does a great job. I do find him a bit overly dramatic at some parts. I’m sure there are listeners who will really enjoy this aspect, but I find this distracting at times. Overall I think he’s wonderful and really helps bring the story and characters to life. You always know which character is speaking right away.

Historia
Janner, Tink, and Leeli Igiby, the Lost Jewels of Anniera, are hiding from Gnag the Nameless in the Green Hollows, one of the few places in the land of Aerwiar not overrun by the Fangs of Dang. But there's a big problem. Janner's little brother - heir to the throne of Anniera - has grown a tail. And gray fur. Not to mention two pointed ears and long, dangerous fangs. To the suspicious folk of the Green Hollows, he looks like a monster. But Janner knows better. His brother isn't as scary as he looks. He's perfectly harmless. Isn't he?

Historia
When Finlay Ashowan joins the staff of the King and Queen of Daxaria, he’s an enigma. No one knows where he comes from or how he came to be where he is, which suits Fin just fine. He’s satisfied simply serving as the royal cook, keeping nosy passersby out of his kitchen, and concocting some truly uncanny meals. But Fin’s secret identity doesn’t stay hidden for long. After all, it’s not every day a house witch and his kitten familiar, Kraken, take to meddling in imperial affairs.

Love it-Adore the Characters
Revisado: 03-28-23
I loved it but it’s definitely a story where you’ll be needing to read the sequels. It’s a cute story so far. The characters are lovely. The kitchen staff ended up being some of the best characters.

Loved it!
Revisado: 03-14-23
The series started out a bit iffy for me, but it was worth it to keep listening. By the end I was really attached to many of the characters. Would love to hear more of Kira’s (spelling??) story!
I saw some reviews claiming this is a copy of another series. I haven’t listened to the other series so really can’t comment on that.
