Historia
Apparently, there’s no rest for the over-forty crowd. Yes, I have fabulous friends. Yes, I have a beautiful baby. Yes, the ghosts are coming back home. Yes, I’m in love with the Grim Reaper. However, that sexy Demon has got some major ’splainin’ to do … like his possible involvement in the shocking kidnapping of my worst and most deadly enemy. With a drag queen and an ice queen as my back up, we’re going to sashay away into the Darkness to find the truth and turn a wrong into a right. Although, I’m learning fast that black and white are often clouded with shades of gray.

Readers are so bad it’s hard to enjoy
Revisado: 03-28-23
Amy Reubenate is just awful. Every time “Rachel’s” story comes on, I got pulled out of the story. I will definitely not listen to another book narrated by her.
The story itself is OK. Maybe would’ve been better had I just read it instead of listening to it. And very likely would have been a much better story. Had there been someone else reading.
I’d give this one a miss.

Historia
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

Fun but hard to listen to.
Revisado: 02-03-23
The story is fun, and, although Nicolette McKenzies reading is good, she is not suited to read the characters in this story. The main character is a young woman in her 20s and Nicolette. McKenzie’s voice leads one to believe the character is a woman in her 60s or 70s. Because of this I was lost for much of the story.

Historia
Four months of wallowing in embarrassed depression should be enough. I’m beginning to realize that no one is who they seem to be, and my life story might be spinning out of my control. It’s time to take a shower, put on a bra, and wear something other than sweatpants. Difficult, but doable. With my friends - real and imaginary - by my side, I need to edit my life before the elusive darkness comes for all of us.

Great Story RUINED by BAD narration.
Revisado: 12-28-22
I love love, love Robin Petermann‘s writing style! Her other book series narrated by Jessica Almasi is not only brilliantly written, but it’s so funny in all the right places because she’s very good. Hollis McCarthy is so atrocious it’s almost impossible to listen to. she emphasizes literally every word in a sentence to the point of being comical and so many of Petermann’s jokes are lost in this horrendous interpretation.. I truly hope to never have to listen to another book narrated by Hollis McCarthy as long as I live!

The authors lack of research it distracting
Revisado: 07-12-21
The authors lack of knowledge and the fact that she did not do research on certain subjects within the book was distracting. A prime example is it’s clear the author has never been white water rafting. If she had, she would know that everyone in the boat cannot be out of the boat in the river at the same time or no one would get back into the boat. She would know that it is not possible to Pee off the side of a boat by hanging one’s rear over the side. The sides of the inflatable raft are too wide and the river too unpredictable oh, your feet would have to be off the ground and he would have to be hanging by the ropes, and the guide would never allow that for liability sake if not your own personal safety. She would know that you can’t get off the boat unless you are in absolute still waters or the rocks will take you. And she would know that regardless of how strong you are, you cannot get back into the boat by yourself and it only takes one person to get you back into the boat by using your personal flotation device not pulling on arms because the weight of the water beneath you will pull you down. As a writer myself, I am surprised that any author would write about something she doesn’t know without researching it. All she would’ve had to do was go on one rafting trip anywhere in the United States, because everything I’ve just said was covered in the initial safety briefing every rafter hast to take regardless of the river.

The voice Actor hired for the 4th installment is not up to the same caliber. She is “affected” and distracts from the story. So much so I returned the title
