Not as good as Dayton Ward's other works.. no exciting climax..
Revisado: 02-27-23
Spoiler alert:
This book is about an investigation into a mysterious disappearing planet which causes Enterprise D and E from different timelines to cross eachother's paths.
There is no threat in this book. The Romulan ship is already outclassed by as you can guess by looking at the cover..two Enterprises with different letters..
The entire story is basically about what would happen if the crew without Picard met the crew with Picard. While it is sentimental fan fare the story really drags on with a predictable ending.

Armin A. Brott is not an expert
Revisado: 11-20-22
The trouble I'm seeing with alot of books now that are promoted to a wider audience is that it seems anyone who has little to no knowledge in a field of study can just gather a bunch of information to patch together a book with an attractive theme. It seems that anyone can look up this information as it is widely available on the internet and probably write a better book.
If you're looking for real knowledge and wisdom from experts you won't find it here. This book has a decent of acceptable information incidentally but is plagued by just as much heresay. The first chapter starts strong but it's not before long that the writing becomes disorganized and inserts alot of unproven theories that are definitely not going to age well.
In the same chapter the author will scare you with SIDS, tell you to make sure you have warm pants for your baby, not to use sunscreen until a certain age and that the all the differences between behavior in men and women are due to social conditioning. Brott does not list sources or studies to back up most of his claims. It was my mistake to buy a book because it was on sale instead of looking up the author who used to be a marine and decided to get into the world of writing and just happens to be a parent.

This book seemed promising at first..
Revisado: 08-30-21
The author seems like he went through alot and the advice he is giving is genuinely from a good place. However, it only fits a certain kind of person. If your personality is not like the author's you may have a hard time relating as I did. The writing is in the form of what you would expect as a lecture from a best friend or an older brother. He tells you what to do and says he's been through this. For some people this might be what you're looking for but I am not a fan of this style. I tend to want to know why things work the way they do instead of having stories told to me unless they are very inspiring and this story just seems like a run of the mill after divorce life change by a guy who didn't really have good role models growing up (which he admits). The problem I find is this new age kind of thinking where you're all of a sudden you're going to be the first one to just figure things out and escape the rest of the society is unrealistic as there are many contradictions in the advice presented.

This book has changed my perspective
Revisado: 10-03-18
First off I am not one of those people who tend to put my feelings before facts. Yet I am at a point in my life where the stresses of work and home life have left me wondering where I am going. I have a bad habit of pushing myself way too hard to "better" myself without really ever feeling content. There is always some further goal for me to achieve and I never stop moving or thinking. In my workplace I am the kind of person who learns every little detail and takes on the most complex tasks in order to impress the company. At the same time my life purpose has never been as clear as my conceptual understanding of the world around me. I understood the world but not my place in it. After listening/reading this book and trying the techniques in it something has become clear to me that no matter how much I have learned or taught others.. I was missing something. Eckhart Tolle has given me a gift through his message. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to accept many of the things he says but even if you do not.. believe me when I say that my stress levels have gone way down. I have made time for moments in my life that I would have missed if I continued the path I was on yet that doesn't mean giving up on acting in thw world. Overall, the most down to earth pragmatic spiritual advice I've ever recieved!
