What does the sound barrier feel like when it hits you in the face?
Revisado: 02-27-25
Incredible story. He went from high-performing super hornet pilot through a crazy brutal ejection down into the depths of despair, physically and mentally, and then battled back up to become a functional member of society as well as endurance athlete.
The effects of good sleep, proper nutrition, and exercise cannot be overstated in recovery.

Historia
Meet Henry David Thoreau, US Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, and other intrepid explorers as you travel northern Maine's rugged woods and waters. In a wild country of ledge and trees that stubbornly resists encroaching civilization, find a young couple padding through the trials, triumphs, and sheer mental and physical exhaustion of wilderness travel severely testing their ability to get along and even complete the trip. Fill your ears with roaring rapids and yodeling loons. Smell pungent spruce and dank swamps.

Not a competing story
Revisado: 09-06-24
Unfortunately, this story is centered around the authors bad breakup instead of canoeing. It comes across childish and uncomfortable. I imagine it was cathartic for him to write about but it is not the story I was interested in hearing when starting a book about canoeing in Maine
