The story takes too long to develop and becomes just a constant retelling of building repairs.

Revisado: 06-19-24
This was a good listen. It filled in some of the gaps in my knowledge of that period. I have a whole new appreciation for the challenges Truman faced in his first 100’days.

Like many of Berry’s books it takes a while to develop the story. Still not sure why the Alexandria link is the best title. But I don’t know what I would’ve titled it.!! love the narration by Scott Brick.

Historia
1945. In the waning months of World War II, Japan hid vast quantities of gold and other stolen valuables in boobytrapped underground caches all across the Philippines. By 1947 some of that loot was recovered, not by treasure hunters, but by the United States government, which told no one about the find. Instead, those assets were stamped classified, shipped to Europe, and secretly assimilated into something called the Black Eagle Trust.

Not one of the best- underwhelming
Revisado: 03-01-24
It was ear-catching to keep hearing references to meters for measurements. Guess this one was for the US market? Story was too convoluted and too many names sounded alike making the story hard to follow. Never a full development of what an atlas maneuver was unlike his others. Just was underwhelming.

Two part story where Two is superior
Revisado: 12-12-23
The first part was overwhelmingly an alphabet soup of acronyms and agencies. And pretty boring. The second part is much better written and researched. You just have to wait for it.

A bit long and tedious at times
Revisado: 03-06-23
A Steven Berry novel usually moves along quickly but this one was slower to develop. That May have been because of the load of background that made it a good listen.

Seven-year-old Autumn Backman has a gift: she can communicate telepathically with others. Not everyone, mind you, but with a select few with whom she shares a special kinship. When Autumn and her mother, Joanna, take her father's ashes to be buried in the family plot in Brickers Bowl, Georgia, she witnesses a horrifying sight: her grandmother and two uncles, burying a pile of dead bodies in the middle of the night.

Not the best.
Revisado: 01-12-23
The storyline drifts around two lines only connected by Savage and Sherlock, and not too tightly. The character development of the antagonists is shallow and cartoonish at times. I will check to not have to listen to the readers again, also. As said, not the best, but probably the longest, unfortunately.

Not my type of story- not well written
Revisado: 09-29-22
Disappointing and I tried to like, it I really did but was juvenile in style. But halfway through it I just couldn’t listen another moment. Don’t think it was the performer, but the style of the author.

Blindsided- know the feeling
Revisado: 12-09-21
I feel rather blind-sided by this Coulter story. It is overly built with too many loose ends and a implausible storyline that does not have a smooth arc. The narrator is disappointing, with silly accents and strange pronunciations. Not one of the best and closer to the other end of the spectrum of FBI books
