Kids walk into schools full of wonder and questions. How you, as an educator, respond to students' natural curiosity can help further their own exploration and shape the way they learn today and in the future. The traditional system of education requires students to hold their questions and compliantly stick to the scheduled curriculum. But our job as educators is to provide new and better opportunities for our students. It's time to recognize that compliance doesn't foster innovation, encourage critical thinking, or inspire creativity.

This was a good book, and helpful. I teach at a public high school and get to a front row view to the generation he's describing. He's pretty much right on with the generation.
I appreciate the example of how he leans into issues as a bridge to the gospel. This does not appear to be the American church's response. Rather, the church seems to desire to give a quick answer and get back to the gospel apart from the issues. And I like the three sample sermons at the conclusion if the book to show how his church responds to the issues.
A worthy read. Next up on this topic: iGen by Jean Twenge, which I hear does a better job of articulating the culture and generation.

wonderful, prophetic book

This book confirms what I have been thinking for a while and affirms many of the decisions my family and I have made in recent years. Christendom in the West is crumbling and the Benedict Option is the ark needed to weather the storm of worldly influence. Thankfully, without that category, my family and I have found ourselves in a Benedict Option congregation, one that is intentional about relating to one another Biblically, in a Thick Community, and one that works vigorously to train up our kids in the instruction of the Lord.
Read this book and let it change your life, especially if you live in the West as a Christian.

In the end, I don't know if I can follow the authors to their conclusions, but the source material and ideas were researched well and synthesized in a meaningful way. As far as I can tell, the Biblical interpretation of the Good Samaritan are right on. Also, it gave me new categories to think in and an affirmation that libertarian thinking is wishy washy and wrong-headed.
I read the book for a purpose not intended by the authors: to learn more about what the Alt-Right is. it help a little, but the scope of the book was more about defining the Cuck and then showing why the Cuck's ideology and practice is way off. So my search for an affirmative definition of the Alt-Right is still yet to be satisfied, but now I know better what questions to ask.
This book is not for the faint of heart. Admitting publicly that you have read it will invite others to label you as a bigot. But as I learned in SJWAL, those that would do that always lie, always double down, and they always project.

Easy listening

I really enjoyed the book and found it very engaging. I don't agree with elements of the book, but I appreciate the craft of the author. What I appreciate most is that he has given me several different categories to think in, which is very useful.
I have no heart for the scorched earth tactics put forth in the book, but I tend to experience a dark thrill of Schadenfreude when I see others use it against groups and organizations I deride privately.
