Gives Women A Lot to Think About
Revisado: 07-07-21
I loved it and want every woman to read this book, preferably freshman year in high school before all the issues (hopefully) arise, then again at college or a the start of a working life. The characters were complex and great to relate to. The story's suspense kept me riveted. And I definitely loved the ending. But it leaves me with so much to think about, and with angst for my daughter.

Historia
When private detective Agatha Raisin comes across a severed leg in a roadside hedge, it looks like she is about to become involved in a particularly gruesome murder. Looks, however, can be deceiving, as Agatha discovers when she is employed to investigate a case of industrial espionage at a factory where nothing is quite what it seems. The factory mystery soon turns to murder and a bad-tempered donkey turns Agatha into a national celebrity, before bringing her ridicule and shame.

I love Agatha Raisin
Revisado: 02-23-20
Loved a new romantic possibility for Agatha. Will we ever get more info on Charles's engagement or is this the last installment due to MC Beaton's passing? Hopefully there is one more drafted that can carry on the saga.

Historia
Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

Lovely story about the complexity of life and love
Revisado: 12-08-19
No black and white for how our lives develop and intertwine with our choices, life events, and relationships. With a story that carefully unravels a story of sisters growing up and family life determined by adults with their own flaws and choices, current day events help heal the broken parts and make a resurrected life if stronger love, compassion and hope. Lovely voices reading the characters of the story.

Love the Mattie Winston series
Revisado: 03-20-19
This is a great mystery series. Mattie is a relatable character. She is smart and caring but has her human weaknesses of carb binging and not opening to love. But the relationship tension between Mattie and Steve got to the point, this book in the series, that it became more compelling than the 2 mysteries. I love the science of her forensic sleuthing, and the science tie in with her nephew. It is entertaining and absorbing without being too gory.

Compelling and absorbing
Revisado: 11-03-18
Tragic, gruesome yet still a story of belief that love and a higher truth prevail. I came away with a deeper appreciation of what the world wars must have been like for occupied European countries and the atrocities of war. But the strength of character from the women who spied for the allies and resistance was remarkable. Such courage and risk. The personal stories wove a lightness through it so the book wasn't all gloomy and dark, though there were those parts where the darkness of history had to be portrayed.

I got a deeper connection to the history of Cuba by getting drawn in to the lives of the Perez family. I feel like I could visit there now and understand what happened to the everyday people. Really enjoyed this book.

The weather is perfect, the seas are calm, and suite 704 is spectacular. Until the door slams shut. For good. Obviously it's a system glitch. Surely someone will show up to free Davis, Miss Hawaii, and the creepy staff. But when the minutes turn to hours and the hours stretch into a day, Davis knows it's up to her.

Revisado: 04-05-18
I love this series. Archer comes up with yet another bundle of kooky but also serious characters and plot twists. I don't want to spoil the surprises for Davis Way fans but this one kept me as entertained as all the previous in the series.

Historia
It's convention season at the Bellissimo Resort and Casino, and Davis Way Cole barely notices. It's hard to pay attention when you live in a Jambalaya Junkyard. But when special events coordinator Holder Darby walks off the job just as 500 Alabama bankers pour in the front door, Davis steps up - or would that be in? Definitely in. Davis steps in it. Not only has the convention director vanished, but a certain Bellissimo guest is missing - one who forgot to pack the million dollars he left in the bathtub.

Great story, fun narration
Revisado: 02-02-18
This was a great story with lots of side stories to get you drawn in. The southern accent of the reader added to the realness of the Mississippi setting. Hated for it to end but it had a great ending. Good character development - would make for a really good movie.
