I have never met Bram Barouh, but if I did I would give him a hearty hug! His wake-up and go-to-sleep meditations are my absolute favorites!

If you like to learn while enjoying the story of your cozy mystery this is a great series for you. The characters are smart and charming. And, it’s fun to learn about the art of book binding as the story progresses. This one even has some Scottish history in it. It is definitely a fun read.

For a first book in a series this isn’t bad. The characters are likeable and the story is fairly entertaining. But, it also lost my attention quite a bit along the way. And the ending was predictable. I will definitely listen to a couple more in the series to see if they get better.

I found this book in Kindle Unlimited. I'm glad I didn't pay a full Audible credit for it. It was cute, but so sappy at times I could hardly bare it. That said, it had some good twists to it. It was the angst in the romance storyline that was annoying. That, and the male narrator trying to do a young female voice. He just sounded ridiculous.

I really like Denise Grover Swank's books. But, I didn't seem to like this one as much as I like her other books. It wasn't as funny as The Substitute (the first book in this series.) Nor did it have the twists and turns of her other books I've read. It just seemed really predictable for the most part. Maybe I just didn't like Blaire, the female lead... I just found her to be whiny and bitchy. And I usually like strong, female leads. The saving grace of this book is the ending. It was quirky and awesome and totally worth getting through the rest of the book for.

I really like Denise Grover Swank's Rose Gardner series, so I decided to give this one a try. I was pleased I did. All of the characters are unique and well developed. The plot contains some twists and turns. And, the romance is sweet. DGS even writes a good sexy scene. I'm also always appreciative of books that make me laugh. I had lots of chuckles and even a few laugh-out-loud moments. I highly recommend this one if you like light, fun, reading!

I kept thinking this book was ending, but it just kept going. The problem with that is that it became boring. I kept going to read other books and then back to this one just to finish it. What's strange about that is that for the most part I liked the characters. Samantha's phobia about commitment was a bit much, but Leo is charming and cool at the same time.

Overall, this story is pretty much like any other Kristen Proby story: Hot sex scenes and the angst of new love. So, if you like KP, you'll like this book.

The only other thing that really bugged me was the male narrator. This is sort of a pet peeve of mine - male narrators whose voice does not match the character! I liked Jennifer Mack's voice for Leo better than the actual Leo Narrator. This guy sounds like a smooth-talking forty-something, not a kick-ass thirty-something rocker! This happens all the time for me though, so maybe it's just me.
