Historia
Forty thousand years ago, humanity fled a dying Earth. Traveling in massive arkships, these brave pioneers spread out across the galaxy to find a new home. After traveling thousands of light-years, one fleet of arkships arrived at Centauri, a dense cluster of stars with a vast array of potentially habitable planets. The survivors of Earth signaled to the remaining arkships that humanity had finally found its new home among the stars.

Slow to start but picks up
Revisado: 12-05-24
This is another Peter F Hamilton book, so instant buy and listen for me. The narrator does a fantastic job, same as for the Salvation series.
The story is unfortunately a little slow to start but it does get better and better, and more and more happens leading into the end. I highly recommend.

Historia
Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

Just ok but a ton of fun
Revisado: 08-26-24
If you make it through this, it’s not for the incredible plot or the amazing depth. You’ll finish it because you enjoy Havok and Miles.
The bad stuff: the plot isn’t great and the characters aren’t really either. They change how they feel because it’s a romance and that’s where it should go, but they don’t act like immortal beings who are hundreds of years old and they honestly seem to forget about the plot constantly because they feel like doing something else at that moment.
The good stuff: there’s lots of steamy scenes and the two characters do have good chemistry. Their banter, when not being repetitive, is fun and really enjoyable. The narration is fantastic and fits all the characters so well.
If you are looking for something that’s urban fantasy and not too deep and just a fun ride, you’ll enjoy this.

Historia
Two mighty empires are at war—and both will lose, with thousands of planets falling to the extinction event called the Scour. At least that's what the artificial intelligence known as Rupshe believes. But somewhere in the multiverse there exists a force—the Mother Mass—that could end the war in an instant, and Rupshe has assembled a team to find it. Essien Nkanika, a soldier trying desperately to atone for past sins; the cat-woman Moon, a conscienceless killer; the digitally recorded mind of physicist Hadiz Tambuwal; Paz, an idealistic child and the renegade robot spy Dulcimer Coronal.

Excellent finish to the story
Revisado: 07-20-24
Mike Carey is one of my favorite authors and has been for years (since writing the Lucifer series). I would’ve read this anyways, but I was eager to after finishing the first book in the set. And this sequel/ending does not disappoint. He not only manages to bring a satisfying ending to the plot; he also manages to make a villain you love to hate (even if they aren’t the real enemy), and create some memorable, relatable, complex and sometimes hatable characters.
The narrator also again does a fantastic job. It almost feels like a full cast production, with each character having a distinct voice. The narrator made me extremely happy to have listened to the audio book instead of reading this in print.

Great 5th book
Revisado: 08-09-22
This one starts a bit slow. Justin as the POV character is hard to get into and enjoy at first. But after a few chapters, Sam, Gary, Tiggy and Ryan join a bit more and things start to get fun, and stay fun throughout.
As always, Michael Lesley is fantastic. And TJ Klune knows how to write sappy, funny and sexy so well. If you’ve read the first 4 Verania books, you’ll enjoy this one. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

Cody Montrose is about to lose his virginity during a one-night (more accurately a one-hour) stand in a seedy motel when the hookup is interrupted by three men who abduct him...to the year 2060. His captors reveal that mankind will soon be extinct because of the mutated HIV virus. But perhaps a risky plan to send the ideal test subject back in time to California, to the year 1983 where the deadly strain first occurred, might work. Cody finds himself asked to impersonate Lance, a big-d--ked, blond porn star of the era.

Surprisingly good
Revisado: 11-30-20
This is exactly what you think it is: a story contrived to require plenty of steamy sex. But surprisingly to me, it also ended up having a lot of heart and being interesting. It didn’t end exactly as I expected, and was very sweet. And the narration is well done.

Some great sex
Revisado: 04-30-20
If you’re looking for some red hot sex scenes, this is the book for you. The sex is described very well and there is a ton of it. Both of the main characters are very attractive sounding and make for a good couple, eventually.
If you’re looking for a story with well rounded characters, this is not the story for you.
The two narrators are amazing! I will definitely pick up a couple more audibles with them.

Just ok
Revisado: 04-14-20
If this had been released fifteen years ago I would have loved it. Now, against the many other much better written audio book productions, it’s just not that good. It’s a little bit funny and there are some gags that pay off, but I didn’t laugh hard once, which was really disappointing. It’s also not exactly a great drama or thriller either. There are some twists, but the stakes are so low that it can’t be taken seriously as a drama or a thriller or anything other than a comedy.

Great second book
Revisado: 06-12-17
If you're reading this book, you're already a Riordan fan so I don't need to say much. This sequel is as good as the first, full of Apollo's arrogance, vanity and always amusing self-absorption.
But more importantly, in an audiobook, the narrator (once again), is awesome. He switches voices flawlessly, allowing you to know which character is speaking through him regardless of the actual dialogue.
