Why his boss at Torus Intercession chose him to figure out who may, or may not, be trying to kill Benjamin Grace, is beyond Shaw James. Protecting a paranormal investigator from whoever—or whatever—may be trying to kill him is completely out of Shaw's wheelhouse, and how is he supposed to help find an attacker when the guy he's sent to protect maintains that the threat is ghostly in origin? It's insane, and Shaw does not do insane. Benjamin Grace is going to be a problem. But Benji is nothing at all like Shaw imagined he'd be, and the fixer is spellbound from their first meeting.

I have been a long time fan of this author but the last few stories I have notice that she is just regurgitating the same characters over and over again. I have also noticed that the bulk of her stories are just full of her confirmation bias which is so evidently ignorant so she is using these stories as her platform. This is of course her right but as a paying reader I don’t like how this leads to poor storylines and no character development. I mean when you read/listen to a story and at the end you say “what was the purpose of that” and don’t get any real emotion from my time reading/listening I feel let down. So very sad to see this happening to a once fun and enjoyable author.

I have read this story and enjoyed it very much. But, the narrator is so bad, that I could not even complete listening. Why was an older sounding narrator selected when the men in the story are portrayed as young virile men. The narrator has no inflection what so ever and completely monotone and pauses in sentences in obvious wrong places to change the whole structure of the statement. It was painful and I was so disappointed as I had been waiting for this audio book.
I have returned the book and if they keep the same narrator I will not buy any more in this series. I dont know why more care is not placed on the selection of narrator, I am not sure who has the final say, but it can change the who premise, flow of a story.

Nice story. A quick and light listen. I am a fan of both narrators but having them both in the same story just ruins the flow and rhythm which can pull me out of the scene with the change in tones. So I did not become so engrossed in the story as I would have like to.

Would you try another book from Vicktor Alexander and/or Guy Veryzer?
I do enjoy Vicktor Alexander but I believe my head actually started to hur because of Guy Veryzer voice, who ever told him he could narrate was not a friend, I tried several times to get into this story but each time I could only stand maybe 5 minutes of his voice
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Never got to the end because of the narration
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Guy Veryzer?
