Projects in Augusta Georgia?
Revisado: 03-21-25
I lived in Cypress Hills projects in East New York, Brooklyn until I was 15 years old. My father wouldn't let us go outside until I was 12 years old . Our apartment windows were facing the back of the building. All the kids hung out in the front of the building. The library and the local bodega was only place my father would let us go to. I still go to the library in Somerset NJ often. I just ordered post traumatic slave syndrome book by Joy DeGruy.

Second chance at love!
Revisado: 03-21-25
I loved Karen's conversation with her mother. Karen often speaks of her mother's husband Walter. It was very interesting how Karen's mother and Walter started dating a few years after they had lost their spouses.

Historia
Ta-Nehisi Coates originally set out to write a book about writing, in the tradition of Orwell’s classic “Politics and the English Language,” but found himself grappling with deeper questions about how our stories—our reporting and imaginative narratives and mythmaking—expose and distort our realities. In the first of the book’s three intertwining essays, Coates, on his first trip to Africa, finds himself in two places at once: in Dakar, a modern city in Senegal, and in a mythic kingdom in his mind.
