How you use your free time will make or break your success. The secret? It’s not about working harder or finding more time to do work. It’s about designing the freedom to engage in the high-value work that brings you energy and fulfillment. This is at the heart of the message that has made Dan Martell the world’s most popular SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) coach. Now, in his first book, Buy Back Your Time, he teaches entrepreneurs at every level how to scale their business, fast, while avoiding burnout.

Great book, narration a little hard to bear
Revisado: 02-01-22
I thought the material is great. The Audiobook is short the material from the revised edition. But that’s manageable.
The narrator is slow and his voice is gravelly which is painful to listen to when demonstrating whining. Not impossible to get through.
I think the timeouts are being disproven in general but those moments can be changed to more interactive learning sessions that seem to be more constructive w my strong willed 3 year old - he wants to be included not pushed away.

Great but quite dated.
Revisado: 04-26-21
Strange how things change. I’m a statistical, analytical thinker and usually really enjoy books like this. In the end, the outdated statistics really take a lot of thought to be able to put it in 2021 perspective. So much has changed since 1996. Not to mention their sample of millionaires is clearly influenced by the motivation they have to complete a survey or interview which greatly skews they personas included in the book.
I still think it’s a great read for overall perspective. Just know that the way millionaires think and act is very different today. (I’m a PAW/work primarily with millionaires and can attest to this).

Practice management is often misunderstood. The Advisor Playbook will take the mystery away. Practice management is how you build an organized toolbox of all your processes - branding, marketing, service activities, core functions - and constantly tune and keep that toolbox efficient and effortless. It's a network of interrelated skills, processes and strategies that build value in a business while making it manageable, scalable, and ensuring the owner runs the business and not the other way around.

Every Advisor should read
Revisado: 12-01-20
Great advisors are always moving forward and becoming better. The advisor playbook has so many things we all do or all think we do and reaffirms the importance of fundamental business activities. Then it goes beyond to differentiate and has more sound bites and relevant ways to relate to clients. I picked up a lot from the book and re-read it regularly.

Historia
Most people believe that the best way to motivate is with rewards like money - the carrot-and-stick approach. That's a mistake, says Daniel H. Pink (author of To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Motivating Others). In this provocative and persuasive new book, he asserts that the secret to high performance and satisfaction - at work, at school, and at home - is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world.

Built To Last, the defining management study of the 90s, showed how great companies triumph over time and how long-term sustained performance can be engineered into the DNA of an enterprise from the very beginning. But what about companies that are not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness?

Not the easiest read, highly technical and informative. I think I was looking for more passion for the drive to greatness. however with this being often cited everywhere in the business world, glad I went through it.
