This book contains much of what is overlooked in the pursuit of convenience by people seeking to establish a political mythology today. This book challenges the academic mind to consider more than the typical college class would want you to believe in regards to how societies function and shines a light on the motivations of so many people interacting across the planet and across time itself. Dr. Nestle put a lot of time an effort into this book, and it's very well written. However, much of the book is about industry and politics. Judging from how I experienced the book, I would say it's about half politics and half about food. And overall there is maybe 5-10% information that can help -me- make decisions about food. This book should be titled "What to Tell Your Congressman," because Dr. Nestle places much more emphasis on political action regarding food than daily choices.

Not a bad book, but not what it sells itself as. This book was increasingly annoying as Dr. Nestle constantly tells the reader/listener what to write to their congressman about the food industry. I'm not looking for big-daddy government to help me select food, I want to know what I can do in my own personal life.

2 Stars overall because it is well researched and well written but has very little to do with the title and description. A short, to-the-point, apolitical, summary version about the food itself would probably only be 2-3 hours and would have been much better.

As a student of Psychology, Anthropology, and a music lover, I found this lecture very stimulating. The topics covered here similar to what I'd expect from a course at my University.

This is one of the most profound books I have ever encountered. As an aspiring writer, and a student training in psychology and anthropology, I deeply enjoyed the thorough and challenging content of this book. I recommend Dr Peterson's book to anyone interested in understanding people at a fundamental level, including one's self. Get this book now. You will appreciate it.

John McWhorter does a great job explaining some introductory concepts of linguistics. I learned a lot about English and other languages and I appreciate just how complicated languages are, and have a deeper appreciation for the beauty of English and the new languages that have diverged from it.

Well written and spoken, Malala's story presents enough detail to get a sense of the culture without being overbearing or irrelevant. Those concepts are then used throughout the book so that as the story unfolds the reader is not culturally clueless. The stories flow well and it is an enjoyable listen that doesn't get boring.

This book tells one of the most essential tales about the Horus Heresy. The culture, philosophy, and mission of the Imperium are pushed to their breaking point, and then broken. Dembski-Bowden's The First Heretic has become one of my favorites in the series with wonderfully artistic writing and a strong set of fully rounded characters. Gareth Armstrong does an outstanding job narrating and he give texture to every character's voice. It's almost as if they're right there next to you.
