My Favorite Series

I have listened to more than 500 titles and nearly all the space operas. "Skippy" and Joe Bishop are by far my fave characters which is always becomes like I'm part of the story thanks to the talents of the exceptional narration of R. C. Bray. Highly recommend this series to anyone hunting for something to keep you listening.

I agree with 2 things covered in this series of books: 1) There are no winners in a nuclear war 2) Having too many nuclear weapons will lead some idiot to use one
The author seems to believe lengthy descriptions with "50 cent" words make the story better; it doesn't.

As normal, Mark Boyett's narration always improves books. Weighed against the 500+ books I have listened to this story and characters are excellently intangled. Highly recommend the series.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Undoubtedly R. C. Bray adds to the enjoyment and intensity of anything he narrates. Lots of subtle humor is mixed with many chacter types, flaws, emotional swings and sub-plots.

Having Been There

in the mid 80's I lived in Alaska and had the pleasure of seeing much of the state and it's people. Kotezbue is truly a place where the Federal Government has suppressed the native culture in an attempt not to repeat their mistakes in Wounded Knee. This story captures the Alaska I knew and loved. Dispite good intentions people known as "outsiders" have broken the native culture and their heritage. As they say "no good deed goes un punished".

Finally the Truth

I was deeply sadden by the details of the heroic men of the USS Indianapolis. Clearly
the Navy's admirals insisted belief that someone should be punished for the sinking of Cpt. Mcveigh's ship. Despite their own incompetence and significant failure to admit their part in causing the ship and so many men's death. Those who invorrectly blamed the captain should have been court martialed. God rest the souls of all who served on the USS Indianapolis and gave their lives for our country.

Would you listen to American Assassin again? Why?
Mitch Rapp in the beginning and first assignments stays true to the previous Mitch Rapp series of doing the impossible by enduring the most horrific human beings. How CIA operatives can complete tasks of this nature is well beyond anything normal men and women would be able to live with themselves if they had done any of the terrible things.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Always Mitch is the most beloved central character and the interplay with Stan, Irene and Stanfield makes a great story.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
Once you hear George's presentation you know a talented reader that can bring details to life by his pronunciation of each word.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
One sitting would be ideal but you never really lose your place in the story when you need to stop listening for a period.

I could really relate to the main character and our current world trends. Thank goodness the USA is trying to reverse the world order. So many of the books world"a governments seem to be accurately portrayed in this future it makes me believe the author has knowledge of our next 50 years. Highly recommended.
