Historia
Years ago, Tabitha Brown started a 30-day personal challenge that she called “I Did a New Thing!” The challenge was simple. Every day she would do something she’d never done before. Sometimes it was something small like trying a new food. Other times, she’d step it up a bit and speak to someone she’d never spoken to before. Still other times, she’d do the hard thing—facing a fear that she had, like having that tough conversation with a friend. No matter what it was, the point was that she was going to take a leap of faith and watch God open up a new lane for her.

Auntie Tab does it again!
Revisado: 04-16-24
Tabitha Brown is America’s favorite Auntie and friend. Her voice is so soothing. She is a light and it comes through in her books. She definitely gave me a few ideas for new things to try. Can’t wait for her next book.

Historia
LeJuan James loves being Hispanic. But growing up in the US to immigrant parents, he quickly noticed their house rules and traditions didn’t always match up with his friends’. The result was a lifetime of laugh-out-loud relatable content for his videos. Definitely Hispanic is a collection of heartfelt memoiristic essays that explores the themes LeJuan touches upon in his videos and celebrates the values and traditions being kept alive by Hispanic parents raising US-born children.

Historia
From New York Times best-selling author and blogger Heather B. Armstrong comes an honest and irreverent memoir - reminiscent of the New York Times best-seller Brain on Fire - about her experience as one of only a few people to participate in an experimental treatment for depression involving 10 rounds of a chemically induced coma approximating brain death.

An accurate view of depression - a heartbreaking end.

As someone that struggles with my own mental health issues, I can 100% understand and empathize with Heather. Her voice was so raw in certain parts you could just feel it in your soul the pain she was going through. Someone posted a “review” that they couldn’t understand cause she was complaining about mundane things - it goes to show how much people still need to learn about mental health and what exactly it entails. When you have to fight with yourself just to open your eyes, to brush your teeth, to eat even then you can have a glimpse of an idea of what it is like. Mundane things are what life is all about so not being able to complete even the most mundane things should show you how bad it is. You just want to stop existing. I’m so sorry that she relapsed and that there was no help at the very end to stop her from ending it all. She really did seem like she had new found hope. I’ll definitely recommend this book to anyone - especially single moms/parents that are going through it.
