Historia
Lillie Silva knew life as an empty nester would be hard after her only child left for college, but when her husband abruptly dumps her for another woman just as her son leaves, her world comes crashing down. Besides the fact that this announcement is a complete surprise (to say the least), what shocks Lillie most is that she isn't...heartbroken. She's furious. Lillie has loved her life on Cape Cod, but as a mother, wife and nurse-midwife, she's used to caring for other people...not taking care of herself.

Loved this book! Lilly is an amazing person. I could relate to her feelings as a mother so much! There were so many fun parts too! The narrator who read for Lully was amazing!

Charlie's Kid is riveting, horrifying, mesmerizing, and unforgettable. It haunts, and it inspires. It is a story you cannot escape whose imagery stays with you. This is a story of monstrous child abuse, years spent alone on the mean streets of Chicago, a hardscrabble adult life—and, ultimately, redemption. Charlie's Kid is a tale of survival at a deepest level against excruciatingly insurmountable odds. From sea to sea and even to fighting war in Iraq; this book will keep your attention to the end. And, though full of horror and despair, Charlies’ Kid is an inspiring tale about ...

HATE HATE HATE the virtual voice
Revisado: 09-17-24
Such a sad but inspirational story. God truly uses and takes care of those He chooses. However, the use of virtual voice is so distracting with mispronunciation of words and incorrect voice inflection. It’s hard to listen to.

Historia
Anne Frank has long been a symbol of bravery and hope, but there were two sisters hidden in the annex, two young Jewish girls, one a cultural icon made famous by her published diary and the other, nearly forgotten. In the spring of 1959, The Diary of Anne Frank has just come to the silver screen to great acclaim, and a young woman named Margie Franklin is working in Philadelphia as a secretary at a Jewish law firm. On the surface she lives a quiet life, but Margie has a secret: a life she once lived, a past and a religion she has denied, and a family and a country she left behind.

Historia
Clay's life has reached a standstill. Recently divorced, he spends his days drifting from his drab apartment to his equally lackluster job as an editor for a small Boston press and back again. His dreary routine has left him mired in a seemingly meaningless existence, until the night he meets Lucian - a demon - and everything changes. With the simple words, "I'm going to tell you my story, and you're going to write it down and publish it", Lucian catapults Clay's mundane life into turmoil.

New perspective on spiritual warfare
Revisado: 07-25-24
Really great perspective on spiritual warfare! Although the book was a little wordy, the author does an amazing job of emphasizing God’s love for us as human beings. I liked the way he intertwined Clay’s personal life into the story as well. Highly recommend.

The murder trial promises to be the most sensational to hit Chicago in years. And attorney Briley Lester knows it could make—or break— her career. The tabloid headlines are screaming that a long-mistreated society wife has killed her abusive husband—the scion of one of the city's wealthiest, most powerful, most dangerous families…. A tragic secret, almost too shocking to be believed, could be the key to proving it. But before she can bring the truth into ...

Virtual voice is so annoying
Revisado: 07-13-24
I liked the story line though the ending with the defense was a little far fetched. This is the second book I’ve listened to using virtual voice. It’s so hard to listen to. Words are mispronounced or inflection is not right. When the main characters last name is constantly being mispronounced, you know it’s bad! I will not listen to another book using virtual voices.

Good story line
Revisado: 07-08-24
Good storyline but absolutely hate the artificial voice reading! Inflection is wrong in a lot of places and words are mispronounced including one of the main character’s name…Edward. Would be so much better with a real person reading this book.

Interesting take on modern technology and end times
Revisado: 04-05-24
I really liked the story and the way of integrating technology into the end times. I felt like the author was throwing around his knowledge of different kinds of guns way too much. But overall I liked the books.
