Historia
The iconic Australian exploration story - brought to life by Peter FitzSimons, Australia's storyteller. 'They have left here today!' he calls to the others. When King puts his hand down above the ashes of the fire, it is to find it still hot. There is even a tiny flame flickering from the end of one log. They must have left just hours ago. Melbourne, 20 August 1860. In an ambitious quest to be the first Europeans to cross the harsh Australian continent, the Victorian Exploring Expedition sets off, with 15,000 well-wishers cheering them on.

Amazing all around

A must-read for anyone remotely interested in exploration. Fantastically written. Expertly narrated. An amazing story done justice (again) by Peter FitzSimons.

Starts off refreshing, ends up stale
Revisado: 09-04-19
The first two-thirds is this book were awesome. Amazingly terrifying for parents, dark and haunting. A total page turner.
The final third? Ugh. You’ve read it 100 times already.
I was cringing by the end when a good guy with a gun is stopped by a bad guy with a gun who was stopped by a good guy with a gun who was stopped by a bad guy with a gun. Seriously.

There's a great story in here, but it's covered up
Revisado: 09-21-18
This book could easily be half as long and twice as good.
There's just way too much background information included.
The narrator doesn't help matters. It sounds like one big long run-on sentence.
