I still can't believe this story happened

What did you love best about Escape?
I lost count of how many times Carolyn would say that something happened and think to myself "this is an exaggeration, these things don't happen in real life" only to go online and research it and find that it was COMPLETELY TRUE. Carolyn's story is one that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene where she was describing her children's opening christmas presents for the first time. You could feel her utter joy and love coming across in her words.

What disappointed you about Twisted?
The narrator either naturally sounded like a moron, or decided she would act Kate's role as one. It was intolerable.

No
How did the narrator detract from the book?
ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY! Although to be fair, the book was frustrating in and of itself.

Loved the story, but gave up on the audiobook and went back to the ebook to finish it.

Domination made endearing

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?
The narrator was fantastic. She let the story tell itself without interfering with the plot. I could actually hear the author through her narration, and that's normally what I look for in audiobooks.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
The tampon tea stirrers, among a few other grotesque things. This is one of very few books I had to put down because I was actually nauseous.
Any additional comments?
Despite some occasional nausea, this was actually a great book and a fantastically interesting story. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who's not super squeamish and is comfortable with reading about alternative lifestyles.

How could the performance have been better?
I don't know why the narrator felt compelled to make Julia sound like an inbred moron in all three books. I read the first two books and this is the first time with the audiobooks. I hated his performance of her so much that I dropped it and bought the book so he wouldn't ruin the story for me.
Any additional comments?
I recommend you read the book and skip the audiobook.
