Since this is a prequel I enjoyed finding out more of the backstory to the other Prescott books. The dad humor, the mystery and the cutting corners to get the killer all add up to equal a good series. I look forward to the next book!

Gone down hill!

I used to love this series. But now nothing happens except talking about the same things over and over. They get in a jam, skippy says no way to get out of it. Joe makes food and comes up with an idea to get them out of it. Skippy tells him he is stupid, then says wait! I can do that! Over and over again. And a Stoney AI? Really? Don’t waste your credits or money.

Fascinating!

Very good and detailed account of how the mob had its fingers in every part of Chicago. The author and narrator did a great job, I definitely recommend this book!

Narrator Change/no action

It took me half the book to get used to the new narrator. He is good but I have gotten used to Luke Daniels who does a great read for this series... it was disappointing he was not the narrator. Also, the book basically did not have any action at all, just sitting on a ship and then just ends. I like the series and will continue to listen but hopefully the next book will have Luke Daniels and more action!

Just not good

I listen to B.V. Larson a lot, and enjoy the books. But this one was just not good at all. The part where the main character learns the aliens name and can’t help but laugh and make crude jokes. For the first time you are talking to a different species from who knows where and the aliens name cracks you up like a child? That was just one of the many things that turned me off to this book. The audio narrative is good like always, story.... bad.

I always look forward for the day when another Expeditionary Force audio book drops. Skippy and Joe’s back and forth is funny and entertaining. Just as enjoyable as the first one I listened too.

Masterpiece

Another amazing book by Pierce Brown. This book... I don’t even know how to describe it, doing so would not give it justice. If you have read/listened to the first trilogy and iron gold you must continue with dark age. The struggle of the republic and the thirst of the society to regain power continues to an unexpected course. just as good as the first four books.

Great series

This is the third installment of expeditionary force I have listened to on audible. It continues to be entertaining and the author does a good job of keeping the listener intrigued. The audio is also crisp and clear and I have never had an issue of bad audio from audible. 5/5
