Long and drawn out
Revisado: 02-25-25
This was a little long and Dianna’s grief was hard to get through as it just kept going. It was skittle more psychological than I would have liked. I hate being psycho analyzed. I’m also disappointed by Cameron. Hope the 3rd book does better.

Annoyed
Revisado: 12-05-24
The ending of this book is annoying af. The mmc made me want to claw his eyes out and the fmc who should have fought him at every step, caves when she should have sent him back to hell.
Redemption? I’m sure book 2 will provide but I am still mad af.

Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

Historia
Rufus Leung Gresham, future Earl of Greshambury and son of a former Hong Kong supermodel has a problem: the legendary Gresham Trust has been depleted by decades of profligate spending, and behind all the magazine covers and Instagram stories manors and yachts lies nothing more than a gargantuan mountain of debt. The only solution, put forth by Rufus’s scheming mother, is for Rufus to attend his sister’s wedding at a luxury eco-resort, a veritable who’s-who of sultans, barons, and oligarchs, and seduce a woman with money.

Annoying
Revisado: 08-15-24
This book is nowhere near as good as Crazy Rich Asians. I couldn’t wait to purchase it and then DNF’d it 3 times before making myself finish it.
The vapid, vacuous characters squealing and screaming about how they are better than everyone else was literally disgusting. It was difficult to like any of them. Maybe that was the point.
I think listening to the book made it more annoying as the vocalization of the characters in my ears with the high pitched whining made them that much harder to take.
Just my opinion. Glad if you liked it but I just can’t.

Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

I couldn’t help but compare this series to the Hunger Games. That kept me from getting into it completely. Once I hit the 3 hours left mark, I finally enjoyed it enough to want to read the next book.

Great read until the end
Revisado: 02-15-24
I loved this book all the way until the end. There is no satisfaction or wrapping up of loose ends. It’s like someone said you gotta hurry this up and the ending was rushed to finish it. It’s too bad because for me it had the potential to be a 5 star rating. The narrator was excellent. Loves her.

Historia
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Not Little Women
Revisado: 01-10-24
I didn’t care for the narration and it took me almost 3/4 of the book to care about any of them. Even the ending didn’t move me. All that time wasted. Nothing reminded me of Little Women.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Heart Emoji
Revisado: 11-09-23
The first 2 hours of this book, I didn’t like it. I kept thinking what is all the hype about. I don’t get it. The mores of the day infuriated me. The attitudes from the men and women infuriated me. I didn’t think I could read anymore. Give it a chance I said. Then entered 6:30 and it all changed. I’m a dog lover. Hook, line and sinker. I LOVED this book! Elizabeth Zott changed the world without even knowing that she did. Her daughter Mad is destined to change the world and Elizabeth didn’t raise her with that in mind. She just firmly believes that there are no limitations and why doesn’t everyone believe that too. Extraordinary. I can’t even relate to living in a world where woman have no say and that men think they can trample all over them as their right. Don’t get me started on using sex as a weapon. Man I was so glad she nonchalantly brought out her chemistry knife. Did I mention that I loved this book?

Historia
Change is coming to Sweden’s far north: its untapped natural resources are sparking a gold rush with the criminal underworld leading the charge. But it’s not the prospect of riches that brings Lisbeth Salander to the small town of Gasskas. She has been named guardian to her niece Svala, whose mother has disappeared. Two things soon become clear: Svala is a remarkably gifted teenager—and she’s being watched.

Not good
Revisado: 11-02-23
I loved the first 3 books. I really liked the second 3. This one made me realize that I had to say goodbye to Lizbeth Salandar. She didn’t even show up in this book until chapter 13 and she’s not the girl I used to know. The story was choppy and I got lost quite a bit. Don’t know what happened to some of the characters. It made no sense. Now Svalla(?) has potential but it’s almost like she will replace Lizbeth in future stories. I’m not a fan of this one. Sad ending for a great character.

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

From beginning to end I couldn’t stop thinking about this story! I don’t know why anyone would give it less than 5 stars. Rebecca Soler, the narrator, was amazing!!! She brought this story to life. Best read if the year for me so far.
