Hate bad narration? Read the book, don't buy this!

The male narrator's voice acting is the WORST. He makes some of these giant, badass, 7-8ft tall aliens sound like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Not even kidding! Other times he 'tries' to do a deep voice and it comes out like this hilarious rock monster I heard once on a cartoon. So. Bad. It kind of ruins the story.

If you love grumpy heroes...

this book is for you.
This book at many of the things I love: a grumpy, reluctant hero with a soft heart. A strong female lead who doesn't do things that make her too stupid to live. And a chemistry that can't be denied between them. It's NOT an insta-love situation, although the attraction is there and they both tey to fight it.

I would recommend this to Ruby Dixon fans, although it doesn't have the insta-love so common in hers.

Hilarious narration. Story likely better.

The story is somewhat hard to judge because of the narration, which was HILARIOUSLY not good. I can't even describe it. It was flat in places, overdone in others, the male was the narrator with the female dialogue spliced in. There were sound effects, and because of the sheer number of male 'voices' its like the male narrator's repertoire of voice alterations was overshot and some of them we're incredibly stupid sounding. I hate to give such criticisms but I was laughing through part of it simply because of the B-movie narration.

That being said, I will be buying more.books in the series.

Great historical romance, narrator better

As always, I love the story. This narrator is WAY better than the one normally used for Garwood historical romances. Yay!!! The only thing I didnt like was the way she pronounced Colin as 'colon' - it was hilarious and distracting.

Always a favorite

I've read the book and listened to the narration SO many times over the years. It's always just a cute story and a good escape from some of the heavier or more intense books.

Narration is good! Accented but not distractingly so. Female voice for male narration sometimes too light (mainly when going back and forth) but she generally does a good job distinguishing.

I really like this series so I've listened several times. it's not perfect, the main character is a bit adult in speech and action, but it's somewhat reasonable given her family life.

The narration is okay but just a smidge flat. Some of her voices for characters are annoying.

Just no...

Ends on a sour note with OW drama that is built up, mega angst, betrayal with another girl and then quick 'i love you too much to let go despite what you did' and 'i should have let you explain' and from the female lead. Great story ruined. At the very least an epilogue would have wiped the nasty feeling of the betrayal and too quick resolution from our minds but there's nothing. :/

Not the worst I've ever heard but definitely not good. Inappropriate for the character's ages for sure. Overdone characterizations.
