Historia
Reeling from a failed marriage, Sheila, a 20-something playwright, finds herself unsure of how to live and create. Stupid book
Revisado: 01-21-23
I was forced to read this for class and it taught me nothing. Who the hell published this utter garbage? It was a hideous waste of my life. Just a bunch of useless narration with a pointless storyline. I hope I never have to read another one of this author’s books.

Historia
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel of the Roaring Twenties is beloved by generations of readers and stands as his crowning work. This new audio edition, authorized by the Fitzgerald estate, is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain). Gyllenhaal's performance is a faithful delivery in the voice of Nick Carraway, the Midwesterner turned New York bond salesman, who rents a small house next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby....

Still a Favorite
Revisado: 01-18-23
I read this as a child (by force) through the education system and now as an adult I read it again (in a college class) and embrace the last words with wonder. It still is as it was when I was a girl, a very wonderful book full of both sorrow and hope for both past and future.

Historia
In 21st century America, the top 0.1 percent of the wealth distribution have walked away with the big prizes even while the bottom 90 percent have lost ground. What’s left of the American Dream has taken refuge in the 9.9 percent that lies just below the tip of extreme wealth. Collectively, the members of this group control more than half of the wealth in the country - and they are doing whatever it takes to hang on to their piece of the action in an increasingly unjust system.

Made me become more myself
Revisado: 10-06-21
The journey of Alicia Keys brought me closer to understanding myself as a woman, a young author and an Air Force Veteran. Seeing her metamorphosis into the woman she is today through this book was absolutely incredible and I feel it has opened a lot of questions for myself in my own life and on my own journey to living more fully. Her life indicates something beyond simple success. I’m so thankful she opened up her curtain of her life. It has blessed me with her energy of hope, courage and faith in the universe.

As a 20 something this is everything for me
Revisado: 08-15-21
I’m a 23 year old black girl and military veteran and listening to this changed my perspective on life. It goes beyond race. To gain an intimate glimpse of Michelle Obama’s life and experience beyond the TV screen is extraordinary. I honestly never paid much attention to news or media and rarely made much of an effort to keep up with the Obama Presidency if only because at the time I was a teenager who couldn’t vote. I was just astonished and proud that he’d won both times.
Michelle Obama’s story gives me hope to the prospect of education so much so that I too want to attend an Ivy League college albeit for my master’s degree. I see her and I wonder how much is possible to accomplish a lifetime. I’m going to school because I want to become a published author. I’ve already written several novellas and published them on Amazon but I see from Mrs. Obama’s example that it’s okay not to follow a straight line in life. That we continually improve with each passing year. As a girl who grew up in a dysfunctional family with my parents at each other’s throats, seeing the Obamas live a true, steady and loving partnership makes me hopeful at what two incredible people can accomplish through commitment and lasting support for one another.
I also want to become more. Thank you so much for inspiring me to do so.
