After a slow start, this book picks up with tension and plot. Most interesting was the latter half and speculative historical fiction details of Aposyle Paul’s time in prison and possible memoir. Humbling to think what Paul may have endured and I appreciated the depiction of Luke’s role and expertise.
A worthy listen

A rather cute listening experience! The jungle and animal sounds make this recording come alive. Even a zebra can be heard. Lions roar; elephants blast; and jungle birds sound authentic. The message is a very important one for children and the next generation to embrace as our endangered animals are on the road to disappearing.

Good but... watch out

This is an incredible story of growing up in apartheid and we can only imagine what people endured. Trevor's mother was a remarkable individual. My caveat is that this must have 100+ F bombs; 100+ S*** bombs; and I did NOT appreciate his endearing reference to pornography. In today's day and age of abuse, we should teach out children NOT to succumb to viewing women as a commodity. That totally ruined this otherwise remarkable tale.

I love Whitlow, but this was a bit slow for the first half. Too slow. And the main protagonist was a bit out-of-touch with reality figures in Christian life today. However, the legal drama in the second half provided a captivating plot to keep us listening on our 12 hour drive.
