the narrator is so hard to follow
Revisado: 01-10-22
The book seems to have good info, but I just can't get into it with this narrator. He speaks fast, cuts off his own words, and merges words together. The words (an hour a week) will become "hourweek." He also does not pause at all while he is speaking.

Historia
Far more than a "business memoir", What Are the Odds? is a raw, authentic account by a man many thought would never rise above his serial, addiction-fueled failures. Mike's gripping narrative transports listeners from his small-town tavern with its colorful cast of "regulars" to Mexico and a drug deal gone awry. From Las Vegas casinos, where Mike won and lost fortunes as a professional gambler, to a jail-cell beatdown. From failed rehabs to his 20-year marriage, an ideal union decimated by addiction. And finally, to the redemption of the most shameful moment of his life.

Revisado: 02-02-21
I"m not sure where to start, this book completely exceeded my expectations. By the end of the book, all I wanted to do was tell Mike how much closer he brought me to God and how much of an impact that a single book can have on your life.
Mike - THANK YOU! You have touched more lives than you may ever know. You have inspired me to be more open and fearless about my faith. You have helped me find a new sense of purpose in my life and told some amazing stories along the way. May God bless you!!!
P.S. We all still know that T***p won the ele****n!

Should be called "The Magic of Ch 7 Bankruptsy"
Revisado: 01-24-19
...however..........The title of this book makes promises, the book shallowly delivers but does not follow through. The author fails to elaborate on the ups, downs, ins and outs of the magical "chapter 7" bankruptcy concept. I feel I should give them one star and force them to negotiate the remaining 4 stars....after all...everything is negotiable. Half way through this book I had to do a double take to make sure I was listening to the same book because the author went on an off-topic tangent about being in "flow". I get it, it's ok, but as a listener, I expected a SOLID 8 chapters that would go more in depth on the topics of this book and instead I felt like the author just wanted to preach about their personal theories on living in the moment. Wait....what was the topic of this book? Yup...thats how it felt. Personally, I have a great interest in the books written by this author, particularly their books on negotiating. For the author, I feel this book was a quick fix - IMO I feel like the author was attempting to please the audience with gimmicky titles and hot topics while losing sight of passion and substance.
