Skies of terror-book 1
Chapter 1
It was a cold, breezy night. I felt the wind on my wings as I slept with the others. I heard soft mumbles,but I couldn’t get up because I had been flying for SO long. Iris was sleeping next to me, unbothered.
Shroom was happily on a giant plant we found, and Zephyr was calmly guarding the cave we were in. As the sky turned to sunrise, a messenger dragon came to the cave.
“Hello?” The messenger dragon echoed, calmly. Zephyr turned to the dragon and replied, “What do you need?” “You have a message from Queen WingHeart.”
The messenger dragon said, and flew off, dropping the letter. Zephyr opened the letter and read;
𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘡𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘳,𝘏𝘢𝘻𝘦,𝘐𝘳𝘪𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮;
𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨.. 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦..
𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦, 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵
Zephyr went pale. “You alright?” I asked. “Haze… I hope uhh….. you had a good sleep?” Zephyr looked anxious, with a very revealing face that he WAS anxious. “Zephyr. It’s not that big of a deal.” I rolled my eyes, and waited for everyone to wake up.
“O-Oh!” Iris stuttered, while flustered. “Didn’t see y-you there..!” I blushed slightly. “Well, now shroom has to wake up.
Shroom jumped up, like a bunny. “AAAAGGGGGGGRRHH!” Shroom screamed. Iris got so startled and wrapped her wings around me. I blushed again, and got up.
“I-I had a nightmare..” Shroom said, VERY anxious. “Zephwer was chasing me because I ate the last chicken..” Shroom now looked evil, for some reason.
Zephyr face-palmed. Me and Iris burst out into laughter and shroom joined in. “OH GOSH THAT IS TOO FUNNY!!” Iris said, and lost balance; “WHOOHH-“ Iris fell into my arms and we stared at each other, flustered.
“Oh-uhhh….” Iris spoke with embarrassment. “Time to sleep?” “It is sunset, we should probably get sleep.” I smiled at Iris and we went to bed.
I woke up early, to grab some water from the river, but Iris had fallen asleep on Haze’s wing and tail wrapped my tail. I carefully picked up Iris and set her on a soft pile of leaves.
I flew to the river, and I saw a dragon.
“Queen WingHeart?”
The large,glorious dragon was calmly watching the sunrise. “Yes, my dear?” The dragon said.
Haze couldn’t believe it. The queen of SoundWings was talking to her?!
“Greetings, your majesty.” I bowed elegantly to Queen WingHeart.
“Good morning.” Queen WingHeart replied,with a smile. “What’s your name,dear?” “I’m Haze.” I said.
I bowed again to Queen WingHeart. “I have to get back, I hear the rest of my group waking up.
Queen WingHeart was laying down, while waving her talons goodbye. I arrived at the cave, and saw everybody searching for Haze,dramatically. “Chill,chill. I’m right here.” I said. Iris looked relieved. Zephyr ran up to me and begged I was alright. “HAZE, WHERE WERE YOU????!!” Zephyr screamed. “I was talking to Queen WingHeart..?” I said,confused. Everyone stared at me strangely..
“What..?” I said. Everyone looked shocked for some reason. Shroom pointed behind me and there was..oh no.
“It’s…a..l..LightWing…….” Zephyr stuttered.
An beam of an eye-piercing light came out of nowhere..but I spread my wings as far as they could to protect the others. I heard Iris begging be to stop,but I HAD to protect them. The light slowly faded away. “Oh you think your so brave,huh.” The LightWing said. “You can’t defeat me,the almighty Supernova.” Supernova said.
“Haze. I wish you luck.” Zephyr and shroom said. Iris hugged me and then I turned to the LightWing.
“You chose the wrong dragon.” I said. “That’s what they all say.” Supernova rolled her eyes. I walked closer to the dragon. “Show me what you got.” I said, confidently. “I’ll wait till you have your smug little wormy attack.” Supernova laughed. “Wait here.” I grinned. I knew how to release my power. I grabbed an enchanted stone and closed my eyes.
“Have you ever messed with a god..?” Iris grinned.
“No..?” Supernova said.confused. “Heh..now you have..” Shroom said, darkly. Supernova was confused until he looked up. “I..it can’t be..” Supernova gasped. The star on my neck glowed like moonlight. I was as large as Supernova stacked on a VERY tall tree. My feathered wings spread like curtains. “My “smug” attack is ready..” I said, like an echo. “Uhm..I was just kidding…” Supernova thought that would be a good excuse. “That’s my girlfre- freind..” Iris said. Supernova rolled her eyes and tried the light beam on me. I used some magic to create a light star and pierced Supernova with the sharp points of the star. Supernova was unresponsive..
I used a bit of magic to clean up the scene so nobody would have to worry about a corpse in the middle of the forest. I went back to normal.
