Historia
Israel Ingham's life has never been easy. He grew up in a house devoid of love and warmth. Nothing he ever did was good enough. The fact that Israel is gay just added to the long list of his father's disappointments. Then a letter from Eastport Children's Hospital changes everything. A discovery is made, one of gross human error. Twenty-six years ago, two baby boys were switched at birth and sent home with the wrong families.

Israel's family
Revisado: 04-28-25
Took me just a few minutes to start to get into the plot and found I was drawn to what was going to happen. Israel is a lovely character and I liked Sam and all of the extended friends, family.
I felt really sad for Israel's Mum and Dad, they were both so isolated from each other and from Israel, so to see them awakening as a family is a beautiful thing.
Donna, Nick and their family were so great and so empathic to Israel and his parents, this was lovely.
I found the narrator a bit hard on my ears at first, I hadn't listened to him before but I became used to him very quickly which made the listen very good.
I recommend this audiobook to all who like a bit of emotional shaking, but with the HEA ending, which makes all of it worthwhile.

Historia
A couple of jerks wake me up at the crack of noon. Seems my klepto uncle stole an ancient deck of Tarot cards from a high-powered wizard, and too many losers want to ruin my day to get them back. The cards are cool, so I check them out, but my magic-happy cousin, Sabrina, tells me I'm not supposed to touch them. Oops. Too late. Now the damn cards are tuned to me, and if someone else wants to use them, I have to die. Why couldn't she have led with that information?

Hidden talent in this
Revisado: 02-17-24
I actually give this 3.25 which from me is a B-. I enjoyed this story, a few hours of fun escapism, I can get behind Brent and his just wanting to nap.
With a father that is one of the most powerful wizards in their world, Brent's lack of interest in using magic is a big disappointment to his father.
But, suddenly Brent is being attacked from all sides, will he finally use that magic that's inside him to save himself and his friends???
We find out!!
This is a fun 'romp' with some chaos magic and a non-interested kid who maybe is going to have to get interested and maybe get out of bed and take care of his problems.

Women in wartime
Revisado: 07-26-22
I haven't quite finished yet as I'm listening to only a few chapters each hearing. But I will say this why British women were so enamoured of the US soldiers I'll never know. They were 'tarts', US soldiers were immoral, disgusting, loose, disloyal, racist, tarts or even male whores as the term defines. I mean really I would've kept my axe nearby if I had to have any of them near me! I mean one incident where a young secretary to a US officer was asked by US soldier to have a coffee with him and she said simply 'it would be a pleasure', a simple, gracious comment, little realising that he was suggesting she have sex with him. The poor woman was appalled and I don't blame her at all. What they were these soldiers were sleazy, creepy, pieces of crap! Let's hope the sleaze ended up getting what was coming to him. Obnoxious to say the least!!
Anyway, that chapter has ended and now I'm with a young woman trying to break codes and find the 'Huns' before they attack.

‘As I have been given a large and magnificent diary for Christmas... I intend to fill it in as long as my ardour lasts.’ Luckily, Miss Read’s ardour lasts all year, encompassing every aspect of Fairacre life. Whether embroiled unwillingly in her friend Amy’s marital hiccups, discussing the changing world with Miss Clare or the modern problems of good local education and rural impoverishment with the schools inspector and the doctor, she remains balanced, humorous and wise.

Not a bad cozy mystery
Revisado: 02-19-22
I enjoyed this mystery and listening to the solving of the crime. There are numerous suspects who are knowledgeable in the art of Archery, which is the means of the murder. A bow and an arrow used to kill from a nearby house but with some intricacy involved in the doing. So the archer has to be more than an amateur.

Historia
Three young women have gone missing. They're all pretty, mid-'20s- someone clearly has a type. But no one links their disappearances until the first - Lauren Elder - is found lying peacefully on a bench in a children's playground. She is neatly dressed with a wide black velvet ribbon covering where her neck has been precisely slit. Her hands are folded over a childish sign on which is written in black crayon - 'BAD MOMMY'.

Not Her Best in the Series
Revisado: 02-14-22
This isn't Robb's best in the series but it is still a worthy addition to the series. I actually preferred the nos. 52 + 53 to this one. Again the narration is excellent and up to mark. I enjoyed the basement scenes with Mary Covino and how she stayed strong throughout, always searching for a way to save herself. I'm not sure that I would be so strong. I wish there had been more character interaction between all the major characters as in other books, this was a bit weak on that this time around. The continuing angst over Eve's past and the comparison with cases is becoming tiring, seems to me that Eve has pretty much dealt with all this in earlier books and Robb could move on a bit with it! If there was some reunion of Eve and prodigal relatives or something, now that would be interesting and more movement in Eve/Roarke's marriage. These would make these novels so much more but Robb/Roberts continues to decline to give Eve and Roarke a complete healthy story, just continues to dither around the same issues without forward momentum! I'd really like to read more developing lives of the permanent characters, I mean we see Peabody, MacNab, Mavis and Leonardo moving forward but Eve And Roarke? NO! The mysteries are still good but I want more from these novels than Robb is delivering which continues to disappoint me!!

Very Slow going
Revisado: 01-25-22
I am on chapter 12 and I am finding this very slow. After twelve chapters Kevin finally ends up with family closure and one kid has been found. I am still listening but I am finding myself jumping ahead with the fast forward often to move it along. There has been one interesting outcome about Andrew and Connor's case, Kevin may have seen someone watching these two years ago, perhaps the killer. So with this update I will go back and continue. There is a lot of sex but I have listened to other ab's with similar and enjoyed it but the sex in this happens at times when I feel it is inappropriate and does not fit at the right times. Not all the time but sometimes!
This is not one I am likely to listen to again but it is improving a little with each chapter.
This is included in the subscription I have so I did not have to purchase so I will just finish it and then remove it from my library.

Historia
You belong to me and I know it down deep, in muscle and bone, where my wolf lives. Avery Rhine isn’t an average homicide detective with the Chicago PD. In fact, Avery isn’t an average anything. Sure, as an omega he knows he’s at the bottom of the food chain, but that’s never slowed him down. He’s got a great life, complete with a loving family and a best friend who’d take a bullet for him, so what more could he possibly want or need? Except, maybe, for the world to change.

Superlative!!
Revisado: 01-18-22
Mary Calmes has written a gem with this one. I love it! I have already listened again to this one, the same day I finished the first listen. One of the best Calmes stories. Recommend to everyone.
Although I have to say that I wonder if a couple of the earlier reviewers actually listened to the same audiobook because they appear to have definitely listened to a different audiobook. There is nothing 'repetitive' about this one, the relationships are not stiff or stilted and the narrator is perfect.

Weird and uncertain
Revisado: 01-14-22
I have really only started on this but I am not certain if I like it. I'm not really happy with the accent of the MC that the narrator has going. He does Sage well, enough and Xavier but Adrian I don't really like, the narrators reading of Adrian grates on me. After reading more of the reviews and seeing most of them appear to rate this very highly, I will try to persevere with this. Mainly because I have other audiobooks of NB that are excellent, and I will be disappointed if this doesn't improve.
I may have to buy the ebook and read it, to really enjoy the novel!
If the audio grows on me I may upgrade my ratings or lower them if it doesn't improve!
