Historia
Extraordinary things happen when we harness the power of both the brain and the heart. Growing up in the high desert of California, Jim Doty was poor, living with an alcoholic father and a mother chronically depressed and paralyzed by a stroke. Today he is the director of the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University, of which the Dalai Lama is a founding benefactor.

Loved this book! I've been practicing mindful meditation for a year and have seen the difference it has made it my life. This book does a wonderful job of showing how opening your heart can transform your life and those around you. Highly recommend this book.

Historia
Her name is Clara Rinker, a Southern woman, trim, pleasant, attractive, and the best hit woman in the business. She isn't showy; she just goes quietly about her business, collects her money, and goes home. It's when she's hired for a job in Minnesota that things become complicated for her. A defense attorney wants a rival eliminated, and that's fine. But then a witness survives, the attorney starts acting weird, this big cop Davenport gets on her case, and loose ends begin popping up faster than on an unraveling sweater

One of my favorites
Revisado: 01-14-13
I am a huge Lucas Davenport fan. This is one of the best in the series. Clara is an interesting "bad girl". Her character is well developed and a great addition to the series. As always Richard Ferrone is spot-on with his performance. Mortal Prey is a must listen after Certain Prey.

Historia
Years ago, Lucas Davenport almost died at the hands of Clara Rinker, a pleasant, soft-spoken, low-key Southerner, and the best hitwoman in the business. Now retired and living in Mexico, she nearly dies herself when a sniper kills her boyfriend, the son of a local druglord, and while the boy's father vows vengeance, Rinker knows something he doesn't: The boy wasn't the target, she was, and now she is going to have to disappear to find the killer herself.

Excellent

I love the Lucas Davenport series! This was a great follow-up to Certain Prey. Although this book can stand alone the listener will enjoy it more if Certain Prey is listened to first.

Not as good as others in the series
Revisado: 01-14-13
Although I enjoyed the book it was not as good as the other 2 in the Nathan McBride series. The story was not very believable but with Dick Hill performing it was still a good listen. If you have not listened to others in the series I would not make this your first listen.

Historia
A shocking double-murder scene greets Detective Inspector Philip Brennan when he is called to a flat in Colchester. Two women are viciously cut open and laying spread-eagled, one tied to the bed, one on the floor. The woman on the bed has had her stomach cut into and her unborn child is missing. But this is the third time Phil and his team has seen such an atrocity. Two other pregnant women have been killed in this way and their babies taken from them. No one can imagine what sort of person would want to commit such horrible crimes.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Awesome!!!
Revisado: 11-21-11
Stephen King is an incredible writer. Even if you aren't into some of his "spookier" stuff give this one a try.....it wont disappoint. The way the story unfolds and the character development is second to none.
