Story was pretty good. I enjoyed the back story of the people and their journeys to find answers to whom their parents were.
I didn't necessarily like how the story concluded.

Little Eve
Revisado: 10-28-22
This is the 2nd book I've read of Catriona Wards'. The first was "The Last House on Needless Street" which I thoroughly enjoyed. She writes evil little stories that get under your skin and stay with you awhile, like a bad rash that you pick and scratch at for days.
This story of Little Eve is so different from the first book I read of hers, and it is such a disturbing little story... but I had to finish it.
It encompasses many feelings while reading it: shock, disgust, and cheering for the children who were being brainwashed into staying with "Uncle."
It is a story worth reading and I do enjoy the way Catriona Ward writes.

I enjoyed this book. Interesting on how makeup was perceived then, when so commonplace today.
History, romance, and a little bit of thriller in this book. Something for everyone. I recommend this book by Natasha Lester.

I enjoyed this book with the unique perspective of this being the same person .... one is the author, and the other is the character in her books (or her subconscious/alter ego, perhaps) .... I love stories like this that weave together all the twists and turns and you think you know what's going on only to find out it is not what you were thinking!

I'm finally getting around to the next books in this series, and this book didn't disappoint! The story is expanded and more information about the Peculiars is given. I will need to continue the story as the second one ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, and unanswered questions. Onto book 3....

What She Left Behind
Revisado: 11-08-21
Ellen Marie Wiseman knows how to write books that grab hold of your heart and never let go. I experienced so many emotions while reading this book. I cried tears, sometimes weeping for these characters, sometimes feeling like this story was too much to bear. I had to finish it..... I had to know what happened. The story has a somewhat happy ending. But there are many hurdles to get there. I will definitely read more of her books, as I've read two thus far. Both excellent. If you haven't ready anything by Ellen Marie Wiseman, I would say "what are you waiting for?"

Revisado: 11-01-21
This is a very wonderfully told story. I enjoyed the Audible version very much. Much life was put into the characters, and it unfolded before my eyes. There is much background to this story that I did not know. I learned much, and am glad to have listened to this story. I finished this book the day after Halloween. What a perfect Halloween tale.

enjoyed the story
Revisado: 05-05-21
I enjoyed the story. but not the narrator. Her voice reminded me of a computer programmed voice, with very little voice inflection. Luckily this was a short story. It is worth a read or listen, as its a very interesting story that kept me enthralled and wondering what would happen to Eve. If the performance had been better, I'd have given it 5 stars, performance in my opinion was 2 stars.
