I love Kylie Scott. I have since I found her Stage Dive series. Theirs seemed a gamble though. I’m guessing because of the description, but I bought it anyway. Kylie doesn’t disappoint. Another brilliant story! It wasn’t well written and realistic. There wasn’t a single “that would never happen” moment.

Andy Arndt is brilliant as usual. I don’t believe I’ve ever listen to anything narrated by her that wasn’t spot on.

Well worth the cost of a credit!

I love this book! It’s a story of six runaways who who after years apart end up back in touch and finding love along the way. The relay handoff that makes it happens is the most wonderful thing. It makes me wish for old friends. Read the book; it’s amazing. The narration is wonderful, as always.

I DNF’d the book. I made it through chapter 12. My rating has nothing against the story. It was very well written and the narrators did a wonderful job. I just couldn’t stomach the content. I like a good submission book with an edge. The scenes in this book were not an edge for me; they were a cliff. It’s a hardcore pain novel. Just know what you’re getting into.

My apologizes, Ms. Fields. You wrote a very good book. I’m just a bit softer than that and couldn’t take it.

J.A. Huss is a verbal magician. She’s the queen of literarily fucking with your head .... in a good way.
I don’t typically write reviews because I suck at it. I’ll try not to give anything away.

This book is about Evangeline, who had serious social issues from a seriously whacked childhood. She finally reaches out for help in the form of therapy and the therapist enlist a friend, Jordan, to help. Jordan, in turn dragged in Ixion (btw, where can I get an Ix?!).

Ix and Evangeline, what can I say?! She has real issues about being watched by other people. Ix is given a certain set of rules and he blows right thru them.

Ugh, read the book. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll say it straight up; I hated Lena. She was useless. Had she been in my camp, she’d have been my Otis. If you watch The Walking Dead, you’ll get the reference. I love this series. I seriously binge listened to the whole series. I hated this book. Not really, just Lena. And that’s not a slight on the Author or the Narrators. The storyline is great as were the voice actors. I hated Lena’s character that much. SPOILERS AHEAD!! It’s been a year at this point. She’s still having panic attacks? She can’t fight, she’s useless. Her “oh my God, woah is me attitude” seriously made me want to throat punch her. There were so many WTF moments. I almost DNF’d many times. And Romeo has serious issues too. But he can do things at least. He’s contributing to the community.

The only thing I didn’t like was the book didn’t answer and questions for me. It was over. I don’t buy it.

This was my least favorite of the series.

Would you listen to Sovereign again? Why?

I'd listen to the entire Acquisition Series again, and again, and again, and again. Without going into too much detail because I don't want to spoil it for someone else, this series is Hunger Games meets The Story of O, meets the Submission Series, meets, I don't know what. I've never ready anything like it. I'm hooked.. Honestly, I don't know how to put it in words. I've not been this excited about a series read in a long time. I found myself re-counting it to my husband. I literally put my life on hold to finish it. It's gripping, it's graphic, there's intrigue, passion, angst, and one hell of a good story line.

WARNING: there are serious triggers in the series and the author makes that known up front.

I can only say, thank goodness it's fiction ..... and buy the book; buy the series. I promise, you will not be disappointed. Celia Aaron, you are one sick twisted woman ..... I mean that in the most loving way possible.

What other book might you compare Sovereign to and why?

I would have to merge Hungry games, the Story of O, the Submission Series, and some others. I cannot compare it to any one book I've read.

What about Stephen Dexter and Robyn Verne ’s performance did you like?

Stephen's Louisiana accent and the emotion he put into his character were great. Robyn's ability to convey emotion was incredible. Between the two of them and the story line, I cried, I got so angry, so nervous. Nervous! I haven't felt that kind of emotion from entertainment since the scene in Saving Private Ryan where they're waiting for the tanks to roll through - and i could never watched that movie again because of that scene. I will however be listening to this series again.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I can't think of a tag line that would do it justice. I would love, love, love for it to happen though.

Any additional comments?

Buy the series; just buy it. If you start on book 1, Counsellor, you're going to get hooked. Save yourself the time, just buy the entire series. But remember, it's fiction.

I have never, ever laughed so hard. Literally. I was crying. I adore Erin Mallon and Luke Daniels. They were prefect.

Burn is recently divorced and dragged out to a party by her two crazy girlfriends who believe she needs a good hard f#%*, preferably against a wall to get her life going again. The only problem is Brendan’s ex with his latest skinny bitch turns up at the party. I wanna dare, when takes off across the room and runs into town. Chaos ensues

I just finished the Mr. Series and like her EOBS said, I have a hundred questions. The first being - girl, how do you this this stuff up? The series is 5 books. That's a commitment, but it's worth every hour. Ms. Huss is a master story teller. The series has everything. Romance, intrigue, hot sex, and things get blown up! What more could a girl ask for?

Would you listen to Over the Fence again? Why?

I would listen to it again and probably will at some point. It's a very sweet story about 2 people who have their own very deeply embedded hang ups and past and how they help each other overcome those obstacles. The story moved along at a nice pace; I wasn't tempted to move on to another audio books as I do with ones that become stagnate

Have you listened to any of John Lane and Tatiana Sokolov ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I tend to listen to audio books with duel artists or a solo female artist. I've very familiar with Tatiana Sokolov and she never disappoints. This book was primarily John Lane - 95%, whom I've not listened to before. Had I known that going in, I probably would have passed and that would have been a huge shame. John has an amazing voice - in fact, I would rate him up there with Sebastian York (whom I love). It's deep baritone which makes me all squishy inside. He's female voice is not the sickly over the top that male artist sometimes do. He projected emotion that was very believable. Great work from both artists!

What made the experience of listening to One Cut Deeper the most enjoyable?

First, this book is not for the faint of heart. There'll be hardcore BDSM play, to include biting, knife play and blood play. The storyline, though, wow! This was my first Joely Sue Burkhart book and I wasn't disappointment. This story is dark, very dark, but exciting, suspenseful, and touching. It's a story about two broken souls who find each other. Sort of. They're relationship is very hardcore - I cannot stress that enough, so if you're squeamish, skip this book. If you're a bit twisted, like me, you will adore this book. The plot has enough romance, mystery, and suspense, to keep you interested. I couldn't stop listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Charlie, despite his dark tendencies, he's a good guy - sorta!

What about Summer Morton’s performance did you like?

I'm familiar with Summer Morton's work from other books. She gave a stellar performance, as usual.

Any additional comments?

I was surprised and delighted to see a book that dealt with the harder side of BDSM without being considered out and out porn. It wasn't your usual tie them up and tease type of play. It was the darker side of some hardcore slave issues. Yes, slave. While I'm not into it, it was a great break from the norm!
