Another Great High Fantasy

Definitely get this book if you're a fan of From Blood and Ash and ACOTAR. This book doesn't have any spicy scenes but it does hint to possible scenes in the next book. I liked the book overall and can't wait for the next audio book to come out. (I may even just read the other books since they're out already).

I wanted to like it

The premise of the book sounded so interesting and I truly wanted to like it, but it fell short. Bram is all about his 'honor' but yet, he forces himself on Susan most of the time. Not to mention, the men in this story feel like they aren't men if they can't bed any woman they want or drink their asses off.

I was hoping for the female lead (who is supposed to be a modern woman) to put Bram in his place but nooooo. She allowed him to take his liberties with her without really asking for consent. And when she tries talking to Bram about his injury and feelings he deflects and proceeds to manhandle her. Overall I felt uncomfortable for her. I couldn't finished this book after their first spicy scene (and I love me my fair share of spice). Too many eye rolls on my end. I enjoyed other works of Tessa Dare but this one is not it. Carolyn Morris did an alright job.

AMAZING NARRATOR!

Great story but wow Jesse Vilinsky did an amazing job with the accents. you knew exactly who was talking. already got the 2nd book. Good story line and romance between the two main characters. It has the right amount of spice too!

This book had me hooked from the start. Such a great slow burn between the characters. I love pirate stories and strong female lead so I give this 5 stars! I can't wait for the next book so I can fall in love with that one too.

I normally never write reviews but I just had so many issues with this book. I got through the first 4 hours alright before I started to force myself to continue listening. I got past part 1 and I just couldn't continue. The MC is so childish, immature, and stupid. She gives me horny teenager vibes who wants attention from any hot guy. Don't get me wrong, I love sexy time scenes but not when she would literally let herself get assaulted by Lori in a club/bar and she plays it off. Her reasoning is that he was trying to get her mate jealous. Urghh My eyes started to hurt from all the eye rolls and second hand cringe 😬
AND don't get me started on Damon....I got bored of Fortuna constantly saving him. He's a grown adult who is a NIGHTMARE but yet he's super weak and useless. I enjoyed the first book but this one really didn't do it for me.

WOW JUST WOW!

I finished this book in one sitting....and boy was it worth it!!! I absolutely loved Maybe Someday so I decided to read more of Colleen's books and I loved this one soooo much. it's definitely a MUST read. so do yourself a favor and listen to this

100% Perfect

I fell I love with both Tom and Darcy! I was snagged by her personally and how the narrator made her persona come to life. I read The Hating Game and I knew I had to read this one too. I'll definitely be listen to more books narrated by Jayme Mattler. I definitely recommend this book. :)

Is there an audio for book 2?

I really enjoyed this book. The beginning dragged for me and it took me 3 days to actually pick it up, but once the book took off, I hella enjoyed all of it! I liked how there was not instant romance between the two main characters.

I really want to listen to book 2 but it's not on audible *cries in drae* hopefully it comes out in the future.

everything about this book was perfect

The narrators were amazing. They made the story 100x more enjoyable. The story is based in Mary's Remnant chronicles series (which I loved!). The romance development was just perfect. Just do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!!!
