Pleasure: We live in a world obsessed with finding it, passionate about enjoying it, and desperate about maintaining it. Chief among such objects of affection are sex and money - two pleasures unequaled in their power to captivate our attention and demand our worship. In what is sure to become an instant classic, popular author Paul David Tripp pulls back the curtain on the lies of our flesh and the ways we distort God’s good gifts, examining the insanity of our culture and exposing our tendency to fall prey to the hollow promises of this world.

I've bought this one at the request of my follower, asking me off my opinion on this book. I had really struggled to finish it... There are much much better books or there on both, sex and money from Christian perspective.

Historia
For too long, the popular understanding of Christian salvation has been limited to securing a place in heaven. Sadly, many Christ-followers experience constant defeat during their time on Earth. The biblical concept of salvation comes from the Greek word "Sozo" and has a holistic implication. Power and victory flowed through the New Testament Church because the early Christians understood how to live out their salvation in a way that impacted every area of their lives - spirit, soul, and body.

Female narrator??? Gimme a break!
Revisado: 05-13-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The topic is questionable itself, worse yet, they choose female narrator, making this book pleasant but indistinguishable sound in my car-audio. For those, for whom English is native it could work, I thought Audible thought of themselves as international business...

innovation is nothing but a catch word here. Unless mass manipulation is 'innovation" for you too. The whole book sings "kumbayas" to three same guy the book admits stole most of "his" ideas...

There book was written to only push their site? so many times did they advertise their site, I am still getting sick everyone I hear word "engage". First part of the book felt like listening to the audio version of coloring book or Quotes section of Financial Times. too much numbers in audio book is not benefiting the reader. Then later it did turn to something meaningful, yet this annoying ad for their site ruined the whole thing.

Historia
Almost one in four American working adults has a job that pays less than a living wage. Conventional wisdom says that’s how the world has to work. Bad jobs with low wages, minimal benefits, little training, and chaotic schedules are the only way companies can keep costs down and prices low. If companies were to offer better jobs, customers would have to pay more or companies would have to make less. But in The Good Jobs Strategy, Zeynep Ton, a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, makes the compelling case that even in low-cost settings, leaving employees behind - with bad jobs - is a choice, not a necessity.

Like most "business" books is mislabeled. It's not about business, it is written about, written to and aimed at corporations with at least hundreds of emps. I have about ten and couldn't benefit from this read.
