Historia
Edith Maud Hull (1880-1947) was a British writer of romance novels, best known for The Sheik (1919), a book which became an international best seller in 1921. The Sheik is credited with setting off a hugely popular revival of the "desert romance" genre of romantic fiction, first popularized by Lord Byron and Sir Richard Francis Burton. The story begins in the Algerian city of Biskra when Diana Mayo announces her intention to travel into the Sahara desert, accompanied only by an Arab guide.

Classic romance, stale performance

I enjoyed the story and the writing but the narrator left much to be desired.

Historia
Imprisoned, awaiting execution, one hope is left; a woman brave enough to tame his beast - and strong enough to fight the demons inside both his head and his heart. Because he may have escaped the Hive...but they aren’t finished with him yet. Warlord Anghar survives hell as a captive of the evil Hive. Convinced he will never break free, he chooses death over dishonor. When the Coalition ReCon Team sent to kill him frees him instead, he begins the long, tortuous journey back to a true Atlan, a warrior proud of his beast, of his service.

Too much smut not enough plot
Revisado: 08-03-22
The plot was paper thin and all semblance of a story was forgone and replaced with pure steamy scenes. I don’t mind steam in my romance novels, but if you’re like me and you want some plot to tie you to the characters you won’t find that here.

Historia
I don't know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it. It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over. Except that it wasn't.

Not worth a credit
Revisado: 08-03-22
The male narrator is horrible and really does his best to ruin the story. If I could go back and not purchase I would. Plot is interesting, ending is too abrupt, but I’d still consider it worth it had it not been for the worst narrator of all time. I’ve never had a book be ruined by a narrator before and consider myself non-picky on such things.
