gripping plot + true characters in YA
Revisado: 04-12-19
i feel like YA often has interesting foundations but shallowly written characters. laura jean is such a well-written, thorough, adorable girl. i love having her as my fictional friend. this book makes my INFP heart feel seen and my heart so so warm.

My name is Harriet Manners, and I am still a geek. The fourth book in the award-winning Geek Girl series. Historia
When Harriet's dad gets a job in New York City, Harriet is beyond excited to move to the land of skyscrapers, museums, and taxicabs - especially since she'll get to see her dreamy supermodel boyfriend, Nick. Except...when her parents said New York, they meant a tiny, boring town two hours from the city by train. Diving back into modeling should be just the right distraction. But can a geek girl stand out in the fashion capital of America?

oh my heart 😭😭😭
Revisado: 03-05-19
Katey Sobey is my favorite audiobook performer ever. Every character has a distinct voice, and she adds layers to the characters that’s unavailable with just a print copy.
The story of Harriet fills my heart every time. I listen to the audiobooks repeatedly. So, so great. Please listen!

Harriet Manners is a model - but she feels even less popular and more awkward than she did when she was just a geek. So a summer modeling job in Japan sounds like the perfect vacation, even if she has to bring along her crazy grandma Bunty, and even if she might run into Nick, her gorgeous model ex-boyfriend. No one is going to ruin Harriet's fabulous Tokyo adventure - unless she accidentally ruins it herself....

Cheeky, deeply moving, lovely, ridiculous in the most geeky, delightful way
Revisado: 05-29-16
WOW. The STORY, the ARTFUL NARRATION, the thoroughly layered characters ... an absolute delight. Silly. Masterful. Among the best YA in the world.
